VNC and SLC produced a spectacle that could only be seen to be believed. Villa had bodies on the line for the entirety of the fixture, stunning the Lauries Lions with two tries in quick succession in the early moments of the match. SLC’s College Captain, No.9, Billy Rutherford clearly demonstrated a phenomenal IQ of the game of Rugby Union. If it wasn’t for Billy and the Laurie’s Fullback, Lauries would have been as strong as a wet cornflake. However, Villa’s 1, 2 , 3, 4 , 5 , 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 produced some of the most exquisite football I have ever witnessed. As an AIC 1 selector I can confidently say that I would be delighted to have any player from the VNC side as part of the AIC 1 team. A few bung calls by the referee costed Villa its chances of taking out the battle. On the contrary, if conversions were at a successful rate for the Wildcats, a win would have been inevitable,
