As a former Iona student I am proud to see Lloyd Gorman and Tristan Stanghorn selected for QLD 1 at 1 and 13 respectively. I am also disappointed my former school couldn't hang onto them. Happens all to often. Schools really need to start putting in hard effort to hold onto their talent.

In the orange boots in GPS 1 v GPS2 ? Willie Malala.

He was selected for QLD 1, but actually limped off in the trial game with what looked like an ankle problem, so hopefully he is OK.

Yes thats him, looks like a handful. I will watch out for him next week.

I take it that game was played under lights. Looks great for taking photos.

Yes, at Ballymore. It was actually a little dark.
I don't think they had the full banks of lights on.

Good tournament out at Ipswich for U15 state schoolboy championships over the last 4 days. Final was won by South Coast over Met North 25-7, 3rd v 4th playoff saw Met East edge out Capricornia by a point with a try in the corner and conversion from the sideline in the last minute of play. The final was played by the best two teams over the tournament with both going into the final undefeated and consistently playing a high standard of rugby over the first three days. South Coast squeezed the life out of Met North in the final and ran out deserved winners 4 tries to 1.
