Padua vs St Pats
Padua winning 17-7
Pats came out strong and scored points first but unfortunately couldn't hold on.
Michael wood could not be stopped with ball however got sin binned for the fourth time in a row
Game was very sloppy and like every other week for Padua it was in the forwards
Pats backs played better then Padua with paduan backs doing nothing but good defence. 9 and 10 for pats played much better then paduas halves combination. If Padua want to win they need to change that combination soon. Padua vs Ashgrove next week, expect a big game
Some great games being played over the weekend very nice to see some school back to there very best.
I heard of some Injuries this weekend?
Fabris - Injured Shoulder out for 1 or 2 weeks I believe
Rafter - Re-Injured can anyone confirm?
Feeney - Ankle out for the rest of the season? Can anyone confirm?
too many strategic coaches and not enough man motivators
The refs in the Villa V Ashgrove game were simply appalling. If this wasn't the case it would have a very close match with Villa not given a chance by the imbeciles refereeing the game.
And how many of those 'boarders' have had their fee's waved?
be interesting to know names and background of all coaches, eg teacher/outsider/parent etc
The Villanova team has an obvious underlying issue, and i'm sure it will come to air soon enough. But i still believe they can win a handful of games this season. In round 4 they face Lauries and as always i believe it will be a tough game
What's you are mail here Seymour ?
It appears like a lot of good players are playing second XV ? trouble in paradise ?
I watched the Iona trial against Villa and Iona certainly used it as a proper trial with several certain starters coming off the bench. The result was irrelevant and Iona will easily account for Villa in the last game of the season.
The Iona performance against Ashgrove in the trial was appalling, with a real lack of commitment from the Iona boys. However, there were a couple of regulars out including Nathan Marshall who is usually their best forward.
Lauries will beat Villa this weekend on their performance against Iona last week. Their bigger forwards were well held by Iona's small pack and the score was only close because of a disallowed try (placed on the line) and a couple of dubious decisions which would have seen Iona win by more.
Villa have a few injuries to players who should have played 1st's, but there are obviously deeper issues. The fact that they seem to only field one rugby team in the u15 age group and lots of football teams says the issue is the talent pool coming through.
Iona should account for Eddies this week. It will be interesting to see if they select Brandt Quinn in the 1st's - he came on late in the game after Feeney was injured and was a standout. He also scored a hatrick in the seconds so doing a lot right. Not sure what the go is with Feeney's injury.
Villa will go without a win this season.
Yes, Iona are certainly looking at a bottom 4 spot, behind Ash, Pad, Pats, and Peters, but I believe they will be at the top of the bottom 4.Considering Iona are looking for a definite bottom 4 finish, i fail to see how you believe Iona will "Easily account for Villa in the last game of the season". If Villa sort out their issue they will definitely be competitive in their final 3 games of the season.
Villanova throughout the years have had countless players poached including many starting players in GPS teams, especially in this year bracket. I find it incredibly harsh for Ashgrove and other similar AIC schools who import players, expecting other schools such as Villa and Lauries to still be able to compete in one of Brisbane's toughest competitions without doing the same. Obviously there is some problems needing to be addressed at either school however, irrespective of this watching the open games the Ashgrove coaches and refs were appalling, especially the 2nd XV coach at the school who wanted to fight the Villa coach.
<deleted hype about referee>
