Villanova are looking strong for 2012 with quite a few players coming through from grade 11 with 1sts experience. I've seen this bunch come through and the combo i see working well is their 10, 12 n 15 which i believe is Hillsdon (10), Torpy (12) and Delany (15). The halfback Lui is also a strong bloke with a good pass and almost plays like another flanker. The forwards will have many leaders in it with Treby (6) and Sorridimi (3) who will both add some brutality and some go forward to the forwards. The 2012 team has a strong kicking game both in general play and off the tee, this team will benefit in the goal kicking department as the kicker Delany has experience from the 2011 season kicking at 1sts level at a strike rate of around 75%. The backline will be one of the fastest if not the fastest in the comp with many of the backs running good times at recent athletics carnivals. The team will also benefit from the current grade 10's who had a couple of guys make QLD teams this year.

an insiders word this year from the villa camp tells me the fact that most positions come with heavy competition, especially around the flanker and 8 with something like 6 players competing for 2 spots and james treby having one spot already. and another source tells me jordy wilson is out for the year.

The Announcment of the Villanova First 15 squad has been suprising picking most 15's and 16's from 2011 but no cooper greenwood, declan tosh or sam eggins but taking some who are not that good, even though cooper greenwood isnt as good as everyone else he is suprisingly quick and an alright kicker, declan tosh aint as good as aaron sorridomi or other props he knows the game like the back of his palm same with eggins he can pass well and has good size to run the ball upn and he has alot of balls.

Villanova's fullback for 2011 who i think was Delaney looks like a certainty for AIC/QLD/ Australian Schoolboys fullback for 2012. Thoughts????

Villa 2012`

I think Villanova are in for a great chance next year. Even though they have been weak over their AIC seasons, there are a number of very good players in the grade who are the year older and therefore have not been playing in this age group for the last few years. These players include the likes of Aaron Sorridimi, James Treby, Jonno Wyvil as well as other players who were in the firsts this year and will only have improved next year such as James Hillsdon, Tom Delaney and Brayden Torpy. With a strong pre-season and a good preparation from coach Shaun Hourigan Villa may be in for a real chance as long as all players can commit to their training early and make the best effort to make 2012 a great year for Villanova rugby. The time is now to step up.

Yeah he seems pretty good as long as he can shake the nerves he showed on a few occasions this year when under pressure.

Mate your name states you are a poopoker which i can only believe refers to your homosexuality, therefore you obviously have no right to be here and who gives a flying fuck about bogan scum eddies and importing cheaters marist. Villa is a true school who earns their place through hardwork not importing from the polynesian islands. The AIC is starting to transform into the joke that is GPS rugby and teams arent genuinely earning their premierships anymore (cough*Ashgrove*cough). Anyway cheers fudge-packer for your retardedly uninsightful comments.

I believe you haven't mentioned the number 9 for Marist 16 A's. I was fortunate enough to watch a few games of his and he was a class above any one else on the field. His control of the play was second to none and directs his forwards around better than anyone in the whole AIC. I was surprised not to see his name in any of the QLD sides as I thought he thoroughly deserved it. He is one to watch next year as he will surely lead Marist to near the top of the ladder.
Obviously tha marist 16A number 9^ Fuckin tosser

"Villa is a true school who earns their place through hardwork" if hardwork gets you last place then id probably just give up now, lets be honest you got no chance.

any thoughts on the aic squad based on this year?

It is far too early to be considering AIC selections, however considering impact players for each team next year:
Wilson Bennett (Sec)
Rory Humphries (Sec)
Andrew Manu (Sec)
Lachlan Roe (Sec)
Brad Wilkin(IONA) – From what I heard throughout the season, there were a number of year 11’s playing a starting role in the 1st XV, unfortunately I am unaware of their names....
Brayden Torpie (Vill)
Aaron Sorridimimi (Vill)
James Treby (Vill)
Jake Bell (Vill)
James Hilsdon (Vill)
Alex Hatzis (Slc)
Xave Bell (Slc)
Jack Dempsey (Slc)
Unsure about Pats and Ashgrove – but if previous form in 1st XV is anything to go by, Ashgrove should have a strong side as should Pats
