Rory Humphries played Queensland Red last year, why would Torpy push him out of the centres considering he only played Qld White. My AIC 1 centres pick is Corcoran at 12, Humphries at 13.

Humphries played wing for qld red last year, he is a very good player but doesnt have the same level of skill as Torpy.

Most backs picked for QLD Red last year can play multiple positions, so that is irrelevant. Again, AIC 1 centres will be Corcoran and Humphries...

It will come down to how the Villa v Eddies match goes down....i would imagine that humphries will probably get a leg up as by the sounds of this thread he has much more quality around him than Torpy

Moses Rambi will easily make AIC 1. His bigger and faster than Bennet and runs hard.
Mate, Moses Rambi didn't even make QLD last year. So how can you say that he is faster and runs harder when Wilson Bennet made QLD Red and is also known for his speed and foot work skills. I guarantee you Moses Rambi won't 'easily' make AIC 1. Why is this the first time Moses Rambi has been mentioned? Your comment is utterly wrong, so stop trying to back your mates up when everyone says Wilson Bennet will make AIC 1.

Torpy will poo on this Humphries character
Righto champ, if you saw Eddies vs Peters Rory Humphries was running to space, making breaks and the runs he made lead to try's of him simply not being a hero and instead passing to his winger.

I am inclined to agree here. As well as this, Humphries defense is second to none. One of the only centres who managed to handle the Padua 12 last year, and that was as a 16 year old

Ashgrove played Barker (NSW) during the week, as did St Peters. Barker won both 24-7 over Ashgrove and 33-17 over St Peters. My people are telling me that Rambi scored a 90m try (not an intercept) in the latter game.

saw ashgrove play this afternoon, and they look like a very good side. slick backline, excellent outside centre and a very, very good set piece. i wouldn't say they're the team to beat considering they were playing st aloysius and i haven't seen any of the other schools play, but i was very impressed nevertheless

Iona had a win over padua today 18-0 pretty well played by Iona, Padua stuck to it and held for the game but were no match for the scrums and forward movement.

Padua played pretty well considering the side wasn't full strength and they'd just gotten back from Europe on Thursday. Garrath Ryan and James Briskie were both missing today so Padua were missing some 1st XV experience. But well done to Iona.

While Padua may have been missing one or two players, Iona was also missing several key positions. Brad Wilkin sat out as did Sione Hola, and first-pick scrumhalf Lachlan Lewis only played about about a quarter of the game. The match was fairly fast and physical, but a lot of dropped ball and basic errors from both teams. Spectators will be in for a good game when the sides meet again during the season proper in two weeks time however.

Any comments or points from Lauries vs Eddies and Villa vs Pats?

Eddies beat Laurie's 31-0 while playing without 3 players because they got sent off. Eddies had the majority of wins against Ashgrove on Saturday with an exceptional 100 metre try from Izaia Perese (brother of Jordan Perese) in the U15 A's. This guy will play 1st next year, no doubt. I watched the U14 A's for Eddies play and they smashed Ashgrove A's 51 - 7. Looks like a bright future for eddies in rugby and may even finish as the championship school in rugby this year.

Rambi didnt make QLD because he was injured. Mate, you seem to talk up the eddies boys alot. do have anything else to say in this forum apart from talking up your mates? Wether Rambi is good or not, we shall see during the season but from what he has produced so far, he will produce bigger things during the season.

I can say as a third party to SPLC & SEC that although Rambi is a very good player i doubt he will beat Wilson Bennet for AIC 1 fullback position. I put this down to not jsut that bennet is a proven performer but because Bennet job is made to be easier with the class he has around him Rambi does not have the same calibre supporting him. If there roles were reversed i woul dback rambi, but it will definately be hard for him to beat bennet when he is acting as one of the main strike weapons for what is 'supposed' to be te competitions favourites

I personally think torpy should be pick as no. 10 for A.I.C 1, he has one of the best kicking and passing games in Queensland, he will be a stand out at 10.

This type of thing rarely happens there would have to be no quality 10s in the comp or torpy would have to be such a stand it is undeniable but even then i doubt it.
