Ive seen every other team play except peters and I think those two are both the standout fullbacks of the comp. i think ashs fullback will pip the lauries fullback for a aic 1 spot however

for AIC selection this year, who does anyone believe the 12,13 combination will be? as there are many people competing for these positions.

standouts for ashgrove i think were - no.15 (jonno Kent) in good form and set up a couple tries got to be a sure chance at an aic selection, no.7 (harry moore) and no.2 (Michael toolis) both good at the break down and did some good things out there to get aic selectors attention. and no.9 (scott mal....) very good in attack and has got to be a contender for aic 1 this year

standouts for lauries i believe - no.5 (tom milosevic) usually no.8 got switched to lock and played well as he always does good at the breakdown, attack and defence. a real workhorse. no.8 (Xav bell) year 11 kid very good ball runner, ashgroves defence struggled to contain him. no.10 (josh hearn) good kicking game and lead the backs well with his good passing game . no.13 (tom dempsey) played inside centre this game and terrorised ash's defence with his sheer size, ball running, and what really impressed me were his offloads in heavy traffic he always gets his arm free and i counted about 10 he made that game. no.15 (joe crowther) kicking game is exceptional and is really quick on his feet, would be a contender for an aic team.

I blieve that the Lauries Fullback plays a much better defencive game than the ASH fullback and they are most equal in there attacking with both great kicking games and ball running. i think lauires will just pip him for AIC 1

I only caught the 2nd half yesterday, but saw the Marist 15 put in some good kicks and one freakish one to set up the try that blew lauries away. He seems to play at another speed to everyone else, he looks like he has so much time. My mate also told me that he is carrying an AC injury aswell, and is only playing at about 60%. The Lauries fullback was solid, but I think the Ashgrove man has him.

Has anyone even considered padua players in aic teams when they are undefeated... jack creighton who is a centre for padua has been dominant and he was selected for AIC 1 last year. The fullback Andrew Shipp played in AIC 1 last year as a replacement for Manny Bell because he was injured and he has been playing well this year. The forwards have been dominant too. It is just my opinion however.

I agree. I saw the Padua SPLC game yesterday and Padua did enough to win but were pushed hard by SPLC. Creighton had a forgettable day however but showed some glimpses of class. Has problems with moving laterally in defence though being done several times by the stepping of the SPLC backs. The Padua scrum was outclassed by SPLC with the Indooroopilly boys taking no less than 4 tightheads off the much bigger Padua pack. I would rate the Padua front row well behind SPC and their lineout looked ordinary yesterday. You can obviously have a bad day though so maybe it was yesterday. SPLC's stuttering backline looked good in patches but mistakes by both units with handling cost them a chance to cause a boilover. Padua were professional enough to conjure up a win from a tough day at the office so are deservedly top of the log.

Padua showed how well they scrap with their win against Eddies in round 1 - since then they have played the also rans so hard to gauge how they are really going. Good test this weekend against Lauries at Suncorp for the curtain raiser to S15. The score against Ash did not reflect the effort of the Lauries boys who managed to get to the lead for a short time early in the 2nd half before Ash stormed home. Expect Lauries to win by 7.

Where else would you put him? unless watson is on the bench or he is? too hard to pick a definite backline yet

Padua have the biggest tests in the last too rounds with SPC, whos season is pretty much over but will come out firing, and ashgrove who will be there biggest test yet.

Best ones from Ashgrove for all those wondering would have to be (in no particular order) Scotty, Harry Moore, Will Thommasson, Jono Kent and maybe Mitch Fuller.
