Highlanders v chiefs 43k
Reds v Sharks 77k

Reds crowd 15,000
Rebels Thursday night 10,000

Not too bad... but really the Reds and Tahs should be averaging mid 80's to 90's with blockbusters pushing well over the 100k mark

Maybe from a few years ago, I went to Wookie’s site and he listed 79 games as having recorded ratings, the assumption is the others did not rate high enough to be listed in that they have to fall into the top 20 and many overseas games get low numbers.

However based on my count this is the ratings from the Wookies site over 79 games.

100 + === 3, includes the grand final
90 + ==== 3, includes 1 match the finals
80 + ==== 6, includes 1 match in the qtr finals
70 + ==== 7
60 + ==== 16
50 + ==== 15
40 + ==== 10
30 + ==== 14
20 + ==== 1

Average 62K

Key word was 'should'...

The average of those ratings include the Rebels and Force, if you examined just the Reds and Tahs for their prime time matches they would be sitting closer to 80k.... but they should really be averaging much higher, for the sake of the code

OMG! Rugby on Fox Sports 1 (Super Rugby, Sunwolves v 'canes) & Fox Sports 3 (U of Q v Sydney Uni) at the same time! Has such a thing ever occurred before?

Tahs vs force 102K. I really wanted to go but watched the game on tv. Crap weather, build a roof like the highlanders stadium already

Good figures, but it's bittersweet because it was such a godawful game.

The paradox of round 1 - we get more viewers because NRL/AFL hasn't started, but those viewers are treated to some truly awful footy.

I don't think anybody expected to see a great tahs vs force game, as soon as it started raining I knew it was going to be awful no matter what. Also the tahs simply don't function without Foley firing. Hegarty reminds of halangagu/McKay/Berne. Not bad but not great.

How do they calculate this?

E.g. how is a pub viewed? Where its a single signal but dozens of people watching it?

I watched at the pub on Satdee night but will putting both TVs on the channel and whipping out my laptop with Foxtel Go boost the numbers in anyway? (albeit marginally)

That I don't know but the figures are through Media Week and I think you can also go to Oztam for ratings.

These companies specialise in key ratings and sales data. I don't believe Pub figures are included, basically it is broken down per TV box set, 102K TV box sets tuned in (I could be wrong though)
