Even bigger LOL when you follow that link. They appear to be playing Rugby League according to the Category, and Style Tag on that page.

According to the Uni Team lists (http://www.sydneyunirugby.com.au/team-list.html) the U20's will not be playing on No 2 oval unless it is before 2nd grade which have the 1:25pm slot on the new Uni No 2 oval vs Eastwood, or on St Johns Oval (my predicted joke location) unless they play after 3rd Grade finish there, so a possible match on St Johns oval as the "Feature Game" with a 1:25 kick off. Alternately it could be on St Pauls or St Andrews ovals (both have cricket pitches in the middle, and possible cricket games still going on) as the only game for the day on that oval.

MacLaurin Hall - hmmmmm - Scoreboard looks a little small but the clock seems to be easy to read.

I was told last night that the game will be on number 2 oval, before Uni and Woodies 1st grade, but this contradicts HJs information so who knows. You certainly won't find out anything from the Waratahs web site. The other franchises seem to be able to provide us with team lists and match reports, yet we are still speculating on a venue the day before a very important game. Showcase my.....

Really bad, not sure this is what the ARU had envisaged. This is the future of the game, we need to take a leaf out of the NZ books on how to keep people and players interested in the game. No use complaining that we keep losing against them.

This weekend will see the debut of Uni #2 oval. There have been a few heavy showers this week in Sydney. Perhaps the game has been moved to the "Car Park" to protect the surface of No2 which may not yet be ready for a full day of footy. The fact that Uni are not playing all four grades there suggests that the groundskeepers may be a little worried about the playing surface holding up to four (or five) games in one day.

The playing surface at the SFS for the Reds v Tahs game was not in ideal condition, and there had been some rain in the days leading up to that fixture as well which is why I think the U20 match was transferred to Kippax. Not really the fault of the folk at Tah HQ who are at the mercy of the fickle late summer/autumn weather. Some gambles were taken with venue selections and timings and they didn't pay off, resulting (a little unfairly) with some ridicule being directed towards Tah HQ.

That being said, the internet (web page/facebook, twitter etc) coverage of the U20's from the other franchises has left the Tahs effort for dead. Without @Lee Grants efforts, there would be almost nothing published on the net about the NSW Gen Blue U20's.

At last! Couldn't organise a p*ss up in a brewery. Might offer my services to the Tahs team logistics and PR next year so I can be part of the solution not the problem and have the following in place:

1. The team bench will have a nice tent to sit under in the event of sweltering heat and/or rain (and also the opposition);
2. Players/players families/ and the 25 supporters will know in advance where the game will be played (and if in the car park, organise Uber vouchers because they won't be able to park)
3. Might organise an esky or two for energy drinks and half time oranges - and maybe sell refreshments to said 25 supporters to fund player's drinks and oranges;
4. Write a match report and publish it on this thing called the Facebook. Maybe some photos on the other internet phenomenon called Instagram - I hear its great for gathering a following (or 25) but no beer or bikini snaps.

PS all conditional on son making team ;)

NSW Gen Blue U20s Head Coach, Chris Malone has named his side for this Saturday’s match against the Melbourne Rebels.

The round four clash will take place at St John’s Oval, Sydney University with kick-off at 1:25pm. Rugby fans are in for a treat on Saturday with the game to take place prior to round one of the Shute Shield match between Sydney University and Eastwood at number two oval, Sydney University at 3:00pm.

The NSW Gen Blue U20s team this week sees Harry Johnson-Holmes move from tighthead to loosehead prop, with Harry Chapman set to make his first start in the front row and Ed Craig moving into the run-on side as starting hooker.

In the backs, Tim Clements has also been handed an opportunity in the starting side on the right wing.

Malone said a few changes had been made to the team based on the last victory two weeks ago against the Brumbies U20s in Canberra.

“There’s been a few permutations to the side. A few of the guys came on in the last game and did well,” Malone said.

“We need to ensure, against a very good Melbourne side who took Queensland close, we have the right mix to secure a good outcome. Melbourne are a big physical side, they’ve got some exciting backs as well so they’re a good team. We have to make sure we’re at our best on Saturday to get the result that we want so we can continue to progress in the competition.

“Coming out of the Brumbies game and having a bye last week, we’ve been able to work a lot in the last couple of weeks, particularly around the things that we started to get better at within our last game against the Brumbies.

“Defensively we’re looking to ensure we’re better than the first game. We showed glimpses of that in Canberra last week. We conceded a few late tries, which was disappointing, but on the whole our defence was pretty good so that’s been our main focus. We know we need to ensure our defence is good against Melbourne tomorrow as they are a strong side.”

Brumbies U20 Colts Head Coach Russell Ingram has made four changes to the side for Saturday afternoon’s clash against the Reds U20’s at Suncorp Stadium.

The Colts defeated the Western Force U20’s in Perth last week [11 March 2016], beating the hosts 21-13.

The team will fly to Brisbane on Friday, hoping to hand the Reds their first defeat of the Super U20s season.

Looking to continue their dominant form from the first two games, Faalelei Sione, Siuta Tai and Tyrel Lomax will pack down in the front row for the Brumbies U20 Colts.

Darcy Swain and Cameron Holt will pack in as the Locks – the two big men will aim to control the lineout ball for the Brumbies against a sizeable Reds pack.

Two changes have been made to the starting backrow, with Sione Fualalo and Bruce Monu joining No.8, Brodie Leber, to form an impressive combination. It will be the first start of the competition for both Fualalo and Monu. Former Australian Schoolboy, Monu, makes his return to rugby after a layoff of over 12 months due to injury.

With the scrum proving to be a major weapon for the Brumbies U20 Colts in 2016, the team hope to use it against the Reds.

17 year-old Ryan Lonergan makes his starting debut for the Brumbies U20 Colts after a number of impressive performances off the bench for the side. Lonergan is still at school and will be pressing for Australian Schoolboys selection in 2016.

Joining Lonergan in the halves is Brumbies flyhalf Nick Jooste, who last week performed admirably, in particular with the boot.

Brumbies U20 Captain, Jordan Jackson-Hope, and Iziah Tittor will start in the centres, with Harry Tyson at fullback, while Tom Hall and Samuel Ross will play on the wings.

Hall replaces Jamie Kotz, who misses out on the clash through injury. Kotz has been in brilliant form for the Brumbies and his exclusion is a blow to the side.

Samuel Samuelu, Marcus Cutler and Thomas Ross will be looking to make an impact off the bench, alongside tight five teammate Zach Shepherd. Angus Allen, Dean Paragali, Mitchell Douch and Geoff Robertson have also been named in the Match Day 23.

The Brumbies U20 Colts will travel to Brisbane to face the Reds U20’s this Saturday at Suncorp Stadium, kick-off at 4:15pm AEST.

For those who can’t make it to the match, the Reds will be LIVE streaming the Round 4 Super U20s Championship clash via the www.redsrugby.com.au homepage.

At Sydney Uni field for the Waratahs v Rebels clash - looks like the live stock were shifted off the paddock a few hours ago to make way for the premier event. I reckon there must be 100 better fields to host this game. The Rebels must be wondering why the NSW franchise is so poorly connected with the community that they couldn't rustle up a better venue.
Hopefully it's a good contest regardless. Go the Tahs.
