Vermeulen has seen the neurosurgeon who reckons the bulging C5 is old damage, didn't cause Friday's spasms & should be OK for the playoffs. Sensibly they're going for a second opinion but looks promising.

Frans Ludeke has stepped down as coach of the Bulls with immediate effect after last night's game. This applies to both the Super Rugby team and the Currie Cup team.

About time! He has continued to persist with an outdated, conservative game plan year after year and has made absolutely no progress with the team. For a union with so much young playing talent at its disposal, the team's performances and results have been a disaster.

Hopefully they bring in someone new with fresh ideas and don't continue to promote from within the union, and as a result, continue to play boring (frustrating) rugby.
