Refs been a deal dick to Canterbury. The end try just proves this. They should their whole front row.

What?

If there is one downfall of the Otago rugby side that is most frustrating, it must be the consistent stupidity. So many wrong options taken at pivotal times. They can generally catch, pass, tackle but give them a choice and uh oh. Losing every lineout doesn't help either. Good thing there are golden oldie scrums this game.

Canterbury 23-16 Otago. Only caught the last 10 min so not sure if it was the cracker I was expecting but result & margin were. I gather Otago lost both their props earlyish hence the "golden oldies scrum" references?

I can remember us losing both our hookers one day v the Aucks & pretending our reserve 7 hadn't played NZU20 as backup hooker to Fitzy. That didn't work out too well, either. We came a (Phil) Cropper, you could say.

I think 5 weeks may be a little light but somewhere between Genghis Qwerty's recommendation and the actual penalty would be appropriate, probably closer to the actual penalty. Without being party to all the evidence, and factors put up in mitigation, it is a little difficult to be too critical of the finding. At least he was found guilty and a punishment imposed.

"That's why forwards don't kick the ball".
Stephan Luatua gifts Tasman Makos a try with a kick that is a cross between The Honey Badgers and Liam Gil's left foot effort.

Someone will past a You Tube Link in due course. Pretty sure it will be on a Sean Maloney Top 5 list fairly soon.

They have....

Otago v Canterbury tonight, 4th anniversary of the 1st & less-destructive Canterbury earthquake. Both top of their respective divisions, should be a cracker.

And Maloney has ..... .... .... On tonights Top 5 Forwards Gone Wild List.

Has anyone watch Canterbury? They are killing it but I've never seen a team cheat so much in my life. Is this where the all black problem comes from? ;)

Also can someone explain the ruling for nasi manu's try? He jumped over the ruck and grounds the ball to score a try even though the ball was in the ruck. I think I remember this happening before.

Once the ball is over line it can be forced for a try whether it out of ruck or not. And by going over top he was going throgh gate so to speal so no probs

You're right, he was offside for mine. Needed to be behind the last feet not in the ruck.

A long time between drinks for BOP but they've beaten North Harbour 21-14, a mere 387 days after their last win. NH now looking good for the wooden spoon.

Off-topic but this is a great story:

In case you're wondering, Scots (in white) are a private school (Presbyterian iirc) while Ham Boys is a state school but upper-decile.
