Lee Grant

But why oh why do our franchises pick the young pups when you have solid, experienced players running around the shute shield or the qld comp but don't get a look in because of their age.

Look at New Zealand and South Africa, they select the best, in form and ready for super rugby players.

Gold that.

Everybody was picking huge things from the Rebels' Sitauti 2 years ago and to an extend last year but there's very little talk about him this year.

Why so? He was electric at U20s level. I suppose he's Vuna MkII and you can only have so much of 1 type of player but I hope he gets a crack.

Sitauti has stood out in U20, 7s and Brisbane Prem Grade in my opinion. I would think he just needs a bit more time and he will continue to improve and eventually he will be a regular starter in Super Rugby.

Playing mini-rugby - a maul collapsed and I fell at bottom. All I could remember was my mom screaming and trying to stop the game!
What is the best part of playing for DHL Western Province?
It's a dream come true... playing rugby with the people who inspired me and playing in front of the Faithful in Cape Town.
If you were offered a superpower, what would you choose and why?
To be able to fly, or invisibility. Because it's cool!

Facebook fan page: Scarra Ntubeni (athlete)

Scarra made a massive stide in this years CC. Excellent ball carrier as a bonus and not afraid for the hard stuff.

Junior school, barefoot rugby on a freshly-ploughed farm-school field.

The team spirit and the privilege of playing for that disa on the jersey.
If you were offered a superpower, what would you choose and why?
Super-strength - because everyone loves Superman and Thor!

Armand is another lock/flanker type in the Elstadt mould. Came with the likes of Etsebeth/Kolisi/Carr via the Ikeys Varsity Cup champion side.

Another Ikey Varsity Cup Champion product.
Nicholas Groom

What is your earliest rugby memory?
Playing barefoot on the Dale Junior fields. The hardest fields you could ever play on!
What is the best part of playing for DHL Western Province?
I live in Cape Town so it's so awesome to represent such a great city. We have the greatest supporters on earth too.
If you were offered a superpower, what would you choose and why?
I would want to be like Hiro Nakamura - from Heroes. He freezes time and can teleport. I would then be the top try-scorer in every match and we could never lose.

He and Shreuder will be pushing Duvenhage for that 9 jersey.

SA Rugby's only Greek that won a CC will be playing for the Kings and another Ikey Varsity Cup winner. Played a massive role for Ikey and WeePee in the finals.
