Just found it in a Reds membership directory doc. These prices seem a bit steep & will really test the Wallabies & Lions crowd drawing capacity. $175 for Silver is only $25 less than a Reds season ticket in that category. Going to struggle to justify spending that much to the wife for a few hours of entertainment, especially the way we've been playing lately.

It may only be a few hours but when it only comes around every 12 years it is difficult to miss.
Dont get me wrong I dont like the prices but I for one wont be hesitating in buying tickets to this game.

Looking forward to the tour game, opposed to the test match. At AAMI I can support the team, unrestricted. At Etihad, it's security lockdown in a concrete jungle.

Wouldn't shed a tear if that stadium was blown up, without any harm.

I know they'll probably get smacked but I'm actually feeling pretty much the same about the combined country side. I'm really looking forward to seeing those guys & very happy it is in my neck of the woods.

I empathise with both sentiments. I'm still mulling over whether to fork out the bucks to come down to Sydney to watch the Wallabies as well as the CC game in Newcastle but I have to consider $$$. As Linebacker says it is only every 12 years. That being said after going down to Melbourne just to watch the Saders play on a much cheaper ticket I can understand where Ruggo is coming from - airfares plus a one of those Wallaby tickets - phew going through some dough there!

Yep agree with your plan with one slight shift.........you can do the dinner and drinking, and then when she least expects it, telephone her at home and drop the bomb about the tickets!

I just paid $90 each to take the family to see the South Africans play the Darkness. Those were cheap seats behind the goal posts. So I don't think the price they are asking is way out of line. If I take the kids to the movies it costs damn near $60 nowadays. Thats not counting stuffing supermarket brought lollies down their pants because I refuse to pay theatre prices for snacks.

Point out to the wife she probably spends thousands on makeup, hair dos, facials etc so a measly ticket to a once every 12 year event is makes sound financial sense. ( I am assuming you get your own hair done by a bloke in a barbershop for $20 and not by a mincing youth who can do your highlights and offer a pedicure).

But if they are asking those prices at ANZ in Sydney for a seat in the back tier, i'd rather hang myself.

Does anyone recall the cost of tickets in 2001 as I would be interested to compare to the 2013 matches. At the rate it's going, it wouldn't surprise if premium tickets to the 2025 Test series hit $1,000 or more.

Considering the cost of the Test matches, it's good that the tickets to the games against the Super sides are more affordable. The cheap seats to the Tahs game are $20 for adults.

But if they are asking those prices at ANZ in Sydney for a seat in the back tier, i'd rather hang myself.

The prices to the Sydney Test are the same as for Brisbane.

I have reserved myself to just going to the Reds tour game. Still very excited for it to be honest. Just bought a first home so the membership is gone next year as well. End of the day I'd rather have Foxtel to watch everything than attend one big ticket event which would pay for the yearly subscription.

If its a full strength Reds side, then i think that would be awesome, but if its minus the Wallaby contingent.. then thats going to be a lot less awesome...

The game back in 2001 was pretty awesome without the Reds' Wallabies. The players new what a rare chance it was, so they gave it there all.

I went to the Lions test at the Telstra dome in 2001 - granted i won tickets but they were face valued around $275 I think so those prices they are asking for the suncorp test are reasonable. Scalpers were pocketing upwards of $1000 + for that second test. Mind you we had a better team back then and dare I say it the Lions were better back then too. It was a blast to see - I would jump at these tickets as what has already been alluded to - it only comes round once every 12 years.

Hopefully they cover all of the tour games on Foxtel. It was great last time to build up some knowledge of how the team was going and build interest in the tests.

Throw in a couple of $8 beers, $5 pies, $3 soft drinks, and you need to see your bank manager in advance to apply for financial approval to attend the match.

Foxtel is a very attractive proposition for families given these prices.
