Moses,

I've updated the Reds injuries into the table format, but it's not showing. Tried a bunch of stuff with no success. It's saved in the page text - you might be able to see what I have missed.
I'll try and get a chance to look today - did you change the table name twice in the closing tags?

Not sure if these are part of the ones waiting to be updated?

Jono Lance - suspected broken leg
Ben Daley - suspected broken thumb
Saia Fainga'a - ankle syndesmosis
Van Humphries - broken nose

All except Van. I thought he might be a chance to start.

Moses/Sandpit Fan - I'm not 100% sure if the table for injuries is the way to go as it is a bit fiddly and time consuming to maintain. I spend a lot of time sourcing the info and think that although tables would look better, the practicalities of keeping it up to date aren't the best, especially if you want to keep everybody in alpha order.

I think it's a good idea to have the Return section in (to keep track of a players injury record for the year and keep for further reference); so transferring the names down to that section for every team when players get healthy, and getting the colour code right would be a pain in the arse. Things change from day to day; so maybe just using text is good enough.

The same is true I think for the Teams List each week - people just like to cut and paste. Once I got a team list early but couldn't be bothered to code every player in the table; so I just left it. The teams list for the RWC was easy - cut and paste - though we should have a protocol that no cut and pasting should be done unless the jersey numbers are included.

Thoughts?

Lee,

Think you might be right, from the point of view of it being easy to maintain. The tables are certainly a pain to deal with, and if we leave it as plain text anyone can jump into the editing.

I'll change it later if we get the tick from Moses. He does all the set up work for this kind of stuff and is the unsung hero of the forum; so should be consulted.

I may be discounting the work of others but Moses takes us out of the wilderness a lot.

I agree Lee, the tables looked pretty good but really the point of the injury page is for everyone to be able to update it, and the tables just confuse things.

Just thinking about the suspensions, would that work better in line with the teams - that way someone looking at who is unavailable to a team can see the complete list in one spot.

Also, on a side note, I've been working on this too: http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/community/wiki/judiciary/

With the team lists I think we can have the best of both worlds - people post the teams into the thread as they're released, and Sully has been collating the table and updating the first post.

Will change the suspensions.

That judiciary thing looks good but the April 2012 dates are wrong at the minute

Hey Moses or LG, are you guys working on the Injury Wikki? Haven't been able to get in there for the last couple of days.

OH and like the Judiciary table. Just emphasises the lottery that it is.

Looks like someone renamed the page from injury-list to injury-suspension-list and the wiki changed the URL accordingly. I've set up a redirect now so it should take you to the new page.

Speaking of the new page, I added a picture

That's sad news for the Cheetahs, for the Boks and for rugby fans in general PB! The Cheetahs and Boks both appear to have adequate replacements at this stage, but it is not good to see such a great player out of the game for so long!

Dunno if he'll ever return to top rugby.
