Will the Lions stand up and be counted in their last roll of the dice effort? The Brumbies confidense have been boosted after the Brutes match. Jake White started the Lions comeback about a year ago and he sure know their setup inside out. Him being involved in the enemy side may motivate this Lions team to play as I know they can. Should be interesting.

I just get the feeling that the Brumbies are going to put the Lions away, similar to the way they manhandled the Rebels the other week. Although I can never discount a saffa side at home.

Lions will be desperate as hell. After this match they will play the Chiefs, Blues, Reds and Force on tour. They come off a bye and would have regroup.

Surprise pick for the Lions match 22 will be the Maties nr8 , Grant Hattingh, who has been pulled in for this match by the Lions. He played last weekend for WP Vodacom rugby.

You know how everyone thinks sides like the Rebels and Force are shithouse? The Lions make them look like the All Blacks

Um...care to qualify that statement?

Pos Team P W D L PF PA PD BPts Pts
12 Force 8 2 0 6 181 212 -31 5 17
13 Rebels 8 2 0 6 154 241 -87 2 14
14 Lions 7 1 0 6 130 192 -62 2 14

The Lions have played one less game than both the Force and the Rebels. Conceded 20 less points than the Force and 49 less points than the Rebels. In terms of the number of players injured this season, they have lost a similar number of players to the Reds.

They are yet to play either the Force or the Rebels, so I don't know how you can suggest that either of those teams are significantly better than the Lions.

Obviously they're going to have less points against when they have played less games o_O A better comparison would have been avg points against per game, but even still a better comparison would be to wait until they play each other.

in reference to the Lions, it's more or less the talent they are brining through and/or have. Force have a host of wallabies and the Rebels have a few good young players (Jones, Pyle, Kingi ect). The Lions on the other hand really dont have any Springbok contenders, with their best players (such as Taute, Strauss) not having a shot at the Bok squad.

Attendance figures is also a bit off. The two Australian sides get pretty sizeable crowds considering they are in AFL dominated cities. Whilst the Lions crowds always look pretty empty (don't have stats).

All three teams are crap, but it seems the Lions are just really doing nothing for anyone right now, surley they will be replaced for the Southern Kings, whether they finish 5th in SA or not.

As long as the Brumbies don't drop the intensity and come up with stupid errors they should win this.

But beating any SA team in SA is never easy.

A blow for the Brumbies with Mowen ruled out with a neck injury...

He hasn't trained with the team the past two days and they won't risk him against the Lions...

Moore is expected to lead out the side...

I wonder who takes over running the lineout?

Well, let's take it as part White's rotation policy.
Biggest enemies for the Brums are complacency & lack of intensity.
Mowen out should be no excuse.
Excuses are for loosers!:)
