21 B Barrett on for 10 Cruden (2nd Test for Barrett)

Pumas seem to have run out of puff. Valiant effort from them which probably surprised many.

They are no easy beats in this competition.

Only one penalty to Sir Richie for Offside. Cloak of Invisibility has been repaired.

Darkness winding the clock down. Argies hot on attack but seem to lack finish.

Final Score 21 Darkness - 5 Los Pumas.

Perth, here we come.

First thought at end of game is a bit of relief, not really hell of surprised that Argoes played so well, and by geez if they replicate that first half performance next week at Gold Coast they will be very hard to beat again.

Messam and Weepu made huge differences. Romano needs to control his body position when running into contact, he's so ineffective at ball carrying the way he runs

Good game from the Argies there. They gave us a real good go for 60 minutes. All they need is to learn to play for 80 minutes and they'll be very hard to beat. I love the way they attack the breakdown. They might even attack it more than we do.

Agreed Dan and Tordah. Argies were very good while the AB's continued to make unnecessary errors. A. Smith was a bit sloppy and it took Piri to come on and tighten things up a bit to help us along. Messam proved he shouldn't have been dropped from the 15. Conrad Smith provided a touch of class to set up the first try as well.

The great thing about Romano running into contact too high and getting smashed is that he can place the ball very quickly so we get good quick ball to run off. The yellow card phase and the first try both came off the back of him getting smashed, lol. Smart fella I reckon.

It's a pity that Cruden kicked the conversion for the second try as I picked a 14 point win, it's a tough life.

They wisely choose when to do it as well, as they often didn't commit numbers to the ruck which helped them defend very well.

Great game by the Argies there, smashing defense, solid forward pack. Classic game and while I am glad we won, I don't think the score reflected the effort of that Argie team. The best second half I have seen from the All Blacks this season, simply enjoyable to watch and I look forward to watching the Aussie game in an hour :)

Although the NZ team won by 16, I thought the game itself was much closer. Argentina, if they recover well, are going to be very formidable and the Australian forwards are in for a huge challenge. In the first half, playing into the wind, I thought the Argentinians completely shaded the New Zealand pack that totally dominated the Australians two weeks ago. Showed us how we should have played!

One of these weeks the All Blacks lack of finishing is going to cost them a game. Yet again multiple blown tries. The Pumas were awesome for much of the game. The depth of NZ rugby shows with the quality of the subs making the difference after someone paid the power bill at half time.

FYI I'm 50k's north of the wellington and the power flickered off for a couple of seconds here at the same time.

Surprised at the score I thought the ABs would put on more. Great effort by Argentina on the scoreline (my fantasy prop Roncero got their only try woo hoo!). Did not see the game, will have to watch the replay.

Argentina were never going to win, but they showed they won't take too long to be on the same level as Australia and South Africa.

Anyone else think the Wallabies are screwed both home and away against the Pumas.

funnily enough, and it's completely irrational, I am more confident of the Wobblies beating Argentina after yesterday than I was before.
The argies ability to stick to the plan is impressive but I see no adaptability.
Of course, given our penchant for the grubber in our own half, the only adaptation they may need is to be able to pick up a bouncing ball.
I was impressed they hung on for as long as they did and I think the delay for the 2nd half was a huge boost to the ABs.
This comp is going to be a cracker in a couple of years.

Argentina played exceptionally well for the first 55 minutes. Their tight 5 set a great platform and they even managed to turn over a fair bit of ball from the AB's. The Argies 'in your face defense rattled the kiwi's early on and if they had the overall fitness they would have come a lot closer to knocking them off.

Complaints first cause that's how it is:

Our forwards failed to change their plan of "one second ball from rucks", and that is McCaw's fault.

Luke Romano can piss off back to the Saders with his Isaac Ross style seagulling bullshit. Disgusting. You ain't Meads, and you ain't gonna be. Play tight and jump.

Steve Hansen subbed our good, ruck hitting lock Brodie Retallick. Romano gets 80. Hansen is shit at the bench use.

Vito sucks. Too small.

Israel Dagg butchers two tries per game because he can't, won't and doesn't pass to wingers.

Positives:

We won.

We won a tighthead.

Savea didn't duff anything, was more involved than Gear or Guildford, and scored. MOTM.

Messam is the best 6 available.

Cruden kicks goals and runs the backs really well when the forwards like Roamano aren't seagulling and stinking the backline up.

Vito isn't too small. He just doesn't play tight enough for what we want from a six.
He is a good eight.

Romano was probably given ball-running instructions, though his upright running style meant he got flattened a couple of times.

It was good to see us outscrum the Argies.
