Hartley got 8 weeks for biting Ferris. IRB should just do away with minimum sanctions as no one gets even the minimum ban anymore.

No surprise, Gatland has been offered the Lions coaching role.
So he could not be traveling with Wales to Australia for the test matches?

Gatland will be given next years 6Ns off if he's take the Lions role. Would expect him to still be with Wales for their summer tour and almost certainly the Autumn tests too.

Thought Fatty was taking over in september? Hartley ban is complete jokeshop, if you are not going to have consistent sanctions then what is the fecking point. Clark up tomorrow, he will probably get a fortnight for deliberately breaking a fellas arm on account of good conduct and admission of guilt, ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!

England don't have many test hookers, the 8 weeks is so he can tour SA, I agree Cave dweller Biting should be no case to answer Banned 12 weeks is the minimum thats what he should have had at least.

Lancaster has been given the England job on a permanent basis. He's to be given a 4 year contract. I hope the RFU treat him well as he's already made some good changes to the England set up.

Mallett to Munster. Knew the tactical loss in Twickenham would work out for the best!?!?!;) Best of Luck to Lancaster though who doesn't appear a complete c u next tuesday. Hope he doesn't get undermined by the biters, gougers and arm breakers in the England set up.

Ah, see, when he was just the "temp" guy I was able to be full of charitable praise and when I wished him all the best I kinda meant it.

Now, however, as the "real" coach I still wish him all the best but hope with all my heart his team gets wiped on a regular basis. Especially by us.

Nothing personal Stuart....

Now there is pressure. He is not that temp guy anymore and they will demand results. Did he made it harder for himself with earlier performances?

Callum Clark banned for 32 weeks for deliberately breaking a fellas arm, 12 of those week outside the season, ficking joke but obviously not for Hawkins.

Not sure if anyone read the judgement in Hartleys ban or the articles that emerged afterwards. But his ban was reduced because Rowntree told the panel that he was a potential future England captain and that he had changed his ways.

This convinced the panel that he was a reformed character and therefore his previous bans for gouging shouldn't be taken into consideration. Therefore they reduced his ban from 12 weeks to 8. I would have thought that he had just bitten someone in a test match would be enough to cast doubt on how reformed he is.

Not much in Rugby makes me angry, I really enjoy the game, but stuff like this makes my blood boil.

Just seen footage of him pinching one of the Turk players this season. He is a fecking disgrace to the game. One of his other character witnesses was Jim Mallinder, who is debating an appeal for Callum Clark who deliberately broke an opponents arm!!!

Think the fella has got an unhappy relationship with the 'grog'. Pissed up and taking more on board on a 7 a.m. flight wouldn't tend to endear you to most employers!! Sad really, a terrible waste of talent. Should think he might be on his way over to Aus but he will be undertaking 'bush tucker challenges' rather than playing rugby.

It is really a shame. He promised so much early in his career but he was his own worse enemy in the end. Seem to forget what professionalism mean with amateur behaviour

Henson had so much talent for rugby and wasted it. Some people criticised Cardiff for sacking him and said he would have plenty of clubs wanting to sign him. I think they did the right thing. He needs to sort his life out and get some help with his drinking problem before he thinks about what to do next.

Mallinder is part of the new soccer style generation of head coaches where their players can do no wrong in their eyes and it's always the ref, oposition or anyone not connected with their clubs fault. Big contrast between how Saints handle their misbehaving players and how Cardiff do. In these two intances Cardiff's handling is the shining light.
