England 30 Ireland 9. Ireland 2nd best by a long way. Lancaster has done a great job with this England side. Today's win might secure him the permanent job but I fear for him the first time things go wrong as there are too many doubters in the English set up.

What everyone in Ireland dreaded, an injury to a prop happened and our lack of cover was clear for all to see. There's a lot of work to be done to develop some depth in the props.

For Ireland it's been a disaster of a 6Ns. Kidney targeted results for WC rankings and didn't deliver. That decision means very little talent brought through and with 3 tests against NZ in the summer we're not likely to see many new caps this year. Deccie will rightly go all out for a victory against NZ so in terms of development it's a year lost.

I'm a big supporter of Deccie but I wouldn't be surprised if there are calls for him to go by the end of the year. Personally I think he should be given next years 6Ns and if he has any sense he'll get a dedicated backs coach so that the talent we have doesn't continue to go to waste.

The nightmare happened and Mike Ross got injured. He was more important to Ireland than POC or BOD I am afraid. Pleased that a Tight Head prop is still so vital to a team but jebus I felt sorry for Tom Court.

Bardon we have the same problem Wales have Adam jones who can hold his own against anyone, but after him there is no one, Warburton too is an essential part of team Wales, Our backrow play so well as a unit, one does the hit the others do the steal, when warbs went off the Balance of the BR changed Ryan Jones good player that he is, is a bit of a maverick.

Agree on Jones but he's a good player to have on the bench and shows the strength of your BR. The problem Ireland have is we generally don't make many changes which means that the BR can go stale.

If Ireland had picked on form this year Heaslip and O'Brien should have been fighting it our for one spot in the match day squad rather than both starting. Without the threat of being dropped there's no motivation for players to maintain high levels of performance. I don't doubt the players ability but they need real competition to drive them to improve. Ireland could easily rotate 6 top quality BR fowards through the team and put it in their heads that they need to perform to be picked.

The same problem is there in the backs also. Anyone looking from outside would think that Ireland just about have enough backs to fill the spots in the squad. But the reality is far from that. Any serious Ireland supporter could name 4-5 young Irish centres who'd do a better job than D'Arcy. Also the option is there to switch Bowe to centre and make room for someone like Simon Zebo on the wing.

Wales did a great job bring lots of young talent through and Ireland need to take a leaf out of your book. Some players are left way too long before they make their international debut and end up in WCs still finding their way.

Too right, the poor bastard hasn't played tighthead for Ulster in years.

Bardon For the first time in years we have strenght in certain positions we have acadamies that seem to be working well Our BR 21,22, 22, wings 19 , 21, other players knocking on the door,
As I said in an earlier post without POC, and BOD you struggle a little. Without Adam Jones Sam Warburton we do too, we need strength here too.

It is real worry for Wales as well. reckon we've got cover for every position 'cept #3. I even think we've got cover for Warbs. Ryan played brilliantly in 2nd half. But we are totally screwed if Adam gets injured.

You are not the only one who thought the Warburton card in the RWC was righteous and the protests from Wales, and to be fair, other folks as well, were ill-founded. The fact that the decision ruined the match as a contest does not mean the decision was wrong. The poor decision came from the estimable Warburton, who made a mistake.

I think that Rolland's decision was spot on, I also think that his bravery cost him any chance of getting the RWC Final gig again.

After he saw the footage Warburton, to his great credit, also said the decision was correct.

The decision was correct, but until the irb get the refereeing to consistently make the same decision there is always going to be controversy. All we want is consistency, something that is a long way off IMO.

Been scratching around the internet for clips of england Ireland since I couldn;t stay awake to watch. I've got as far as 5 mins into second half and it's 9-6. Looks like a standard eng v ire game of manic ichasing by ireland. What the hell went wrong? Was the loss of Ross the turning point? Game must ve stood on its head

Scotty, We've moved on.. But whilst we're on the subject, Rolland did a nother sterling job of turning a game into the Allain Rolland show last night.

England destroyed Ireland with some classic good old fashioned 10 man rugby

Still only seen snippets of the Ireland game but I was aghast how scrum was destroyed. Saw one posting where one of the orcs asks Nigel Owens when he is going to show a yellow card to the Irish front row. Owens says 'Don't be silly'

Now far be it for me to criticise a ref but dramatic as it all was, from the bits I have seen it does strike me that Nigel Owens failed to see that on the hit Corbisiero shifts his hips out, the second rows part and his (Corbisiero) 2nd row follows his body angle so he too is angling inwards and they drive straight across the Irish tight head and on to Best. This is why Hartley keeps popping up because his head has nowhere to go. A clue for Owens should have been the angle the scrum crabbed on nearly every drive. For mine, in this crucial aspect the ref was pants.

Anyway, my point is I that front rows have to drive straight and I believe this tactic is illegal Why weren't the Irish complaining to Nige? I am shewer that if POC was on the field he would have been
