Interesting numbers:

For the SA teams its clear that the Sharks don't like playing their home conference games. But 3 of the last 4 games are in-conference, so if they continue the trend they will miss out on a finals place. I think the Bulls are well placed to take a spot even if they lost away to the Stormers.

Clearly the Tahs have done better in-conference than outside and they've only got one in-conference game left. They have to reverse the trend if they are to make it.

After the Reds game the Saders have a bye, 4 points, and then two home games in-conference. You'd think they'd make the six and could still overtake the Blues. Dangerous to bet against them in my opinion. The Highlanders have two hard and two easy games. They would be confident that they'll make it if they play well. After their bye week, the Blues have two home games out of three, but all of them will be difficult. Win the home game against the Chiefs and they'll be pretty sure of the six. NZ conference is hardest to pick I think.

Taking my heart out of it I reckon the Tahs and Sharks might miss out. The team that loses this weekend is on a very slippery slope.

The in conference ladder seems to tell us that the Australian teams aren't getting as big a leg up as the likes of Luke Watson would have us believe. It is only the tahs that have truly benefitted and a few of their conference games could have gone the other way at the death.

Geez thought I would get better response from the Tahs lot. Interesting the bonus points in the derby matches. There were pundits telling this country would benefit more then the others playing their derbies by getting more points. Not much differense between Aus 13, NZ 11, SA 9. Aus got 6, NZ and SA 3 try scoring bonus points. The rest was losing within 7.
