To date it's been mooted the first round of next year's Super Rugby will have the Tahs playing in Melbourne, a fitting welcome to the new Australian team. I'm planning on going to that match, and intend to take my time about it. As I'm in the wine trade, and have many wine contacts in Victoria, I'd like to see one of my wineries in Gippsland (an easy day trip from Melbourne), call on a special vineyard in Macedon and inspect the Wine Bank bottleo in Bendigo on the way home. I already have one passenger, a retired mate of mine from the Blue Mountains who wants to check out some cellar doors in Heathcote. One of my cousins owns the pub at Sorrento, a grand Victorian pile on which he's spent a fortune, a day trip there could be an option. Apart from these out-of-Melbourne adventures I'd like to have a good feed at one of their famous bistros, Florentino or City Wine Shop, or maybe even Jimmy Watson's in Carlton. Is the Bot still the rugby pub? Is it as good as it was? My rugby/wine adventure should take about five days probably departing Sydney on the Friday morning.

Of course, some may wish to fly down for the game only and return next day, my wife may be one of these. Whatever schedule we decide tickets have to organised and rooms have to be booked. Gagger, could you please PM me your Melbourne mate's contact details. I'll get in touch with Rod Macqueen once the fixtures are released.

The expedition's name? How about "big 'arold's cheer squad"? Be good to get the chairman on side.

Anyone interested? Can we sink more piss than the Hong Kong Sevens? Do I have to make enquiries to book a bus?

1) Where Melbourne is?

A fine venture Dommer. Seeing a little rugby at the end of it would be a bonus!

You know my thoughts, Monsieur L'Indommer. Would like to do the 5 days, but in reality would likely fly down for a couple of days. Keen as...

I may be able to find out which hotel the Tahs are at and when the bus leaves and flights etc...

But only closer to the date.

Friday, 18 February it is. Horses rested and fed, carriage cleaned and oiled. Any takers?

Without me, yes, I am.

I REALLY wanted to be the first person to yell "Doin' it all day ref!" after the first penalty at the Rectangular Stadium.

I'll be coming back from the UK about a week before that date but I'd love to go. Just have to slowly started working on the President of Social Affairs.

You need someone in a Bulls jersey in your party. Someone needs to represent a champion team :)

We can talk extensively about what it feels like. :)

How long are you coming for, just because you've got at least 10 hours of driving to and from all the locations you've listed.

I may not be on the Musketeer's bus, as I might not have that many days off.
I'll let you know when my flight is coming in!;)

Haha, well I think we have the Brumbies at home in week two, so if you come on gameday you could turn an 8 day trip into something pretty special.

See Victoria, plus two professional rugger games and take in the local rugby scene.

The next round I see you all at Newlands. Have a wine trip all lined up!.

One day in the (hopefully) not too distant future, I may take you up on that offer Paarl. I'm looking forward to one day travelling to SA to see some rugby.
