Daniel Braid
Quade Cooper
Rocky Elsom
Will Genia
Daniel Halangahu
Drew Mitchell
James O'Connor
David Pocock

Braid? New Zealaner, but he is playing for an Australian club. And playing very, very well.

But Elsom? Now, that's worrying.

I think that Elsom being there is similar to the old Latham issue, but slightly different: being surrounded by average and below average performances, slightly above average performances can get points. The Latham issue was that he was the Reds' match winner in an underperforming team, and thus always got points and kept winning. In saying that, I think that Latham was more than a worth winner.

How about Pocock? Missed most of the games and still makes it.

Smart money would surely have to be on Genia.

It seems they might have mixed up Hodgson and Pocock?

And I agree that TPN should be there ahead of Elsom.

Although it probably doesn't matter, Genia should have this wrapped up.

Agreed. Been huge this year and will certainly cause the Bok selectors more than a few problems.

Hodgson has been killing it. How did he miss out. Not that it should matter as Genia should just be handed the award now as no one else should catch him.

To be honest, I thought Barnes or Giteau would have been given it just to keep them happy.

My top four is (with the winner in bold):

Genia
Hodgson
Q. Cooper
Braid

Rookie of the year (could somebody clarify the rules about this one?):

Davies
J. Turner
McCalman
Simmons

Try of the year:

Any of Quade Coopers or Rod Davies tries, they are all good.

Sorry mate, they have done it last year - Weeks and Quade being the respective winners - so I just assumed it would be the case this year too.

TPN would make my top 4, probably at the expense of Braid (although he has been very good).
Kane Douglas, Inman and McCabe would be a show for the rookie award, Turner hasn't had enough game time.
If Simmons qualifies, Dave Dennis probably does too.

If it is for players playing their first game of S14 this year I would give to Kane Douglas.

Good nominations topo. My mind went blank during my post and forgot about all those players!
