Don't like missed tackle stats - they're horribly misleading.
The game was more like touch football. Skills in passing and support play were actually quite good. The reason that there were so many points is that the players were often bamboozled by what was going on around them, and there were a hell of a lot of tap kicks taken at penalty time. Both teams went out there with the express desire to run their opponents off their feet, and generally speaking it worked for both of them at different times.
I thought Jonker was being a bit biased toward the end though, giving the Lions no penalty at a ruck after the bell where one of their players was lying right on the ball, but that may just have been "new ruck" interpretations, or NRI as I'm calling it from here on in (patent pending).
The Chiefs' discipline had waned to such a degree that they deserved almost to lose.
