    ISA 2025

Hi DaS ...... I'm not concerned about the schools being able to host (eg enough fields, refs, change rooms etc). I'm sure they can all facilitate one team per age group. What I'm concerned about is making the travelling team having to split each age groups into multiple squads if they play in 3...

    ISA 2025

Agree it is a good idea but I hope they all play at the same venue. Take Round One for example, don't make Stannies having to travel from Bathurst to Campbelltown as well as two locations in Bowral. Oxley & Chev should travel to Campbelltown.

I think Ben McCalman went to Kinross and Angus Staniforth also went there. Matt Philip went to Auggies. I suspect the only Div1 ISA school which has no Wallaby is Oakhill although 2 of their ex students have gone on to be NRL big name players.

    ISA 2025

In the hypothetical scenario you gave, Oakhill will be near the bottom of the ISA ladder so they will go in the lower division against the CAS schools. All the A teams' results matters. Nic White (St Gregs) , Langi Gleeson (Auggies) , Tom Hooper (Stannies) , Mark Nawaqanitawase (Pats)

The results from 13As to 16As plus 1st & 2nds will determine if the school is in the top deck vs CAS or the lower deck ..... imagine half the school turning up to cheer on the little fellas in the 13As if your school is close to making the top deck ? What a way to entice more kids to play rugby.

Da-S ...... glad you posted this. I don't think many people in ISA land knows about this. There been a lot of very good work put in by people from ISA to make this happen.

I agree with Game-Day-Ritual. South African schoolboy rugby is that much better than the rest. There are plenty of games available to watch on YouTube - don't watch the highlights. Watch the full game with the volume down, ignore the pre match fanfare and commentary. Initially you will think how...

Waratahs U16 vs Brumbies U16 on 19th Oct @ Rat Park will be of great interest to that mob at Castle Hill. They have 3 students in the Brumbies' squad, then another 5 in the Waratahs squad.

    ISA 2024

It’s probably too early for either the Auggies’ camp or the Oakhill mob to comment on next year – got to wait for the GPS and CAS bursars to finalise their scholarship budgets first. There is going to be a lot of parents from both schools having to buy new school uniforms next year !! :):):)

    ISA 2024

Auggies beat Oakhill in 1st, 2nds and all A grades in every age group yesterday. Complete whitewash. Not sure that has ever happened. Closest I recall was 2013 but Oakhill won 2nds or 16As that year (the year Auggies 1st absolutely pumped Oakhill 60 something to zero under lights at Rat Park) ...

They are going co-ed so joining ISA is for the girls to have sporting competition ... just like Barker is part of ISA. Don't think their boys (rugby, soccer, cricket, basketball etc) will be leaving CAS.

Oakhill 16As will play Riverview 16As. And Oakhill 2nds plays Riverview 2nds.

Mish, no truth in the rumour. A bunch of year 12s were invited to train & played in some 7s tournament with the Woodies' Colts - most likely part of Woodies' recruitment exercise for 2025. So they do have 2 very decent scrumhalves to pick from out at Castle Hill. Besides the 9s, they have some...

Hi Da-S .... I did see there is some sort of a new comp set up involving Redfield, Arndell, William Clarke & RouseHill Anglican College. All located in the Hills area north east Sydney. There are other schools in the area who did play rugby in the past - Northholm Grammar, Hills Grammar...

I reckon your prediction for the Oakhill 2024 team will be way off …... But interestingly I just heard via the grapevine one of their front rowers will be going to King's. I guess it is 'poaching season' now as bursars from GPS and CAS schools start offering scholarships. I have mates who coach...

With regards to Oakhill, of the 6 x U15 Waratah squad, 4 of them will be in their ‘Opens’ age group next year. They also got 3 boys coming back who were involved in the recent triangular series vs Tonga. So, they certainly have depth, and it is timely to acknowledge the contribution of the late...

Not that long ago, there was a "Div 3" in ISA where the 3rd XVs from Div 1 also played 1st XV from Scots Bathurst, Oxley Grammar and Blue Mts Grammar. Used to be a very competitive comp. There were after match functions with speeches and exchange of gifts along with food at Scots, Oxley and Blue...

    ISA 2023

Apparently Oakhill will be taking 70 of their 'Opens Age' players on their NZ tour. How amazing will it be for someone who might be a Year 12 student playing 4th XV and still get the chance to go on a rugby tour with his school mates ? That probably explains why Oakhill has so many of their Year...

The best XV of players from any school

I'm a bit late in joining the chat .... but i think if you ask Cranbrook who their most talented rugby player ever, they most likely say someone by the name of Matt Street. Tragically died in a car accident when we was only 20, back in 1980. He missed out on the 1977 Schoolboys tour because he...
