Good observation, its a long lost art in Australian rugby “passing off the deck”, nearly all halves stand up skip then pass like George Gregan did. If you don’t pass off the deck in NZ you’ll never play at any high level. Hurts to say (being a Joeys boy) but Grover is a talent

The issue I have with the new system is that in past years it was an honour to be one of the 22 or so to be picked and play for Australian Schoolboys. Now about 80-90 a year claim to be an Australian Schoolboy Rep on various rugby club/School web sites

And most of them the Joeys team played a higher St.Augustine’s team. As Joeys played Oakhill the same day ie Joeys 3rds v Aug 2nds Joeys 16C v Aug 16B Etc etc etc etc Great Aug teams especially the 1sts who won 31-26 , but not close to an even match up in most of the games
