    Sydney Colts - 2015

Not too sure about South's actively recruiting out of the Illawarra. The four boys from Illawarra that have joined South's this year have done so of their own accord. They all attend Wollongong Uni and as Illawarra doesn't have a Colts comp this year they thought they would give Sydney Rugby a...

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2014

Unfortunately the pathway to ISA through the Div 2 competition is an uphill battle given that these boys are not noticed on a week to week basis by the people that matter and are given 20 minutes to prove themselves at the selection trials. Despite victories over St Pius (31 to 10), St Gregs...

    ISA Rugby 2014

Yes he did trial along with another Prop who has played State level for the past two years. There must be tremendous depth of Front Row stocks in the ISA given the unavailability of Aisea and Jai and the overlooking of another 2 State level Props one of which will be running around with his 2nd...

    ISA Rugby 2014

Interesting observation from the selected CHS and CCC teams with 33 of the selected 59 players coming from the Country (includes some boys from Western Sydney Schools who are affliated to Country through their association with Campbelltown and Illawarra Rugby). ISA should be too strong for...

    ISA Rugby 2014

Chev to field a 2nd's in the ISA Div 3 competition this year. This is the first time since dropping to Div 2 that Chev had a 2nd's in a legitimate ISA competition. Well done to the convenor's of ISA for thinking outside of the square so that more kids can play Rugby.

NSW JRU State Championships & Representative Teams 2013

Your assessment of Country Rugby is a bit harsh. At least they have been able to select a team after seeing the same number of games as Sydney Juniors. Four good players have pulled out and have been replaced by another four good players who are grateful for the opportunity. They have held...

NSW JRU State Championships & Representative Teams 2013

Illawarra hit hard in the last week with injury and withdrawals, missing 2,6,7,9,12 and 15.In addition a Centre and Prop missed the first game. Six of the 8 are Country Reps. Only two on the bench for the Eastwood game which increased to four for the Penrith game. The Coaching staff and...

    ISA Rugby 2013

RT your comments re the Div 2 players are ill informed. Chev sent 3 players, all year 11 who spent their summer in the JGS program. While they play Div 2, two of the boys play Club on Sunday. They have already competed at the Under 17 Country Championships and been selected for Country and will...

    ACTJRU U18 & ACT Schools XV 2013

I am not familiar with the relative strengths of the ACT comp. At times the body height of their forwards was poor and they will have to work on their scrum. Having said that the 2 props from Chev are both very good with one representing NSW Schools under 16's in 2012. Both are in the JGS squad.

    ACTJRU U18 & ACT Schools XV 2013

Dara played Chev on Saturday in 2 x 18 minute halves. Chev forwards dominated the first half and in particular at scrum time.Chev led 2 tries to nil at the break. Chev Coach made some changes at halftime and Dara took advantage scoring 3 tries in 5 minutes to run out victors 4 tries to 2...

    ISA Rugby 2013

Can confirm that Pius did have their 1st XV as they were down in the Southern Highlands for a 1st XV training camp. The scoreline was 6 tries to 4 in Chev's favour. Chev 1st's have 15 year 11 players in their 23 man squad. This has been a strong team having been undefeated in ISA Div 2 from 13's...
