Scotland v Wallabies at Murrayfield 12.40am Mon 25 Nov

Like for like apart from all the obvious areas that McReight is superior. Good stuff Derps.

    Brumbies 2025

I really admire BR’s persistence in the campaign for Ollie Sapsford to be recognized as a centre and not just a reserve winger. It’s now gone next level with the claim that Sapsford is physically similar to JS. Are we talking purely height/ weight or has Ollie been hiding his world-class...

    England v Wallabies, Twickenham, Sun 10th Nov 2:10AEDT / 1:10AEST

He doesn’t play like a 12 at all? Plus physically his height will become an issue as a crash ball centre and make him prone to being held- up.

    Wallabies 2024

How much 12 has Sapsford played for the brumbies BR? You’re really pushing this concept of him playing inside centre, and it seems to be based off little more than he’s over 100kg.

What is this based on BR? He got some opportunities at Super Rugby and was mediocre, and he hardly set the world on fire in Shute Shield. How has he demonstrated his value as a key signing for Australian rugby?

Hodge stole a wage from the Rebels and Australian Rugby for years- using some of that cash for Sione probably would have been a better option.

    Wallabies 2024

It’s a combination of teams being risk averse in selection due to the limited number of games, limited spots (only five professional franchises in the country), and limited finances. We don’t have the ability to resign every player with potential, and teams will default to players they know and...

Because unlike Flook, he’s actually a threatening and capable wing/ fullback, as well as being a servicable centre. So again he’s probably being considered a better 23 then Flook, as opposed to a better centre. I think we’ve exhausted all your potential rebuttals- but keep going.

    Wallabies 2024

Are you being intentionally obtuse? Plenty of people have suggested that he’s been selected as outside back coverage and not as a pure wing. Toole is fighting against Pietsch.

    Northern Hemisphere Rugby

We have spoken about this guy ad-nauseam. He was clearly pretty talented but was not a standout at Super Rugby even compared to his domestic competition. Guys like Billy Meakes even looked better. He wanted a pay rise but at the time it didn’t make sense to give him a Wallaby top-up. We simply...

    Wallabies 2024

You want to select a NZ reject and mediocre Super Rugby wing, at 12 for the Wallabies? And you wonder why people accuse you of bias.

    Wallabies 2024

His error rate has been terrible and his decision making has been poor. Stewart doesn’t have the athleticism (strength/ robustness) to ever be a good test player but at least he knows when and how to pass.

    Wallabies 2024

We are only considering Ikitau at 13 because Paisami has been pretty woeful this year (and in the past) despite his strong Super Rugby. I‘m not advocating for a Ikitau/ Flook partnership but I would strongly argue that an Ikitau/ Sua'ali'i (or even Petaia) partnership would be stronger than any...

To be clear im talking about Flook so calm your farm. - I rate Ikitau (although he hasn’t regained his 2022 form).

    Wallabies 2024

It’s not size; it’s the fact that he’s not athletic enough to be a world class centre. He will constantly be playing people with equal football smarts, but they will all be faster, stronger and probably bigger.

    Wallabies 2024

None of our back row are athletic enough to be world class to be honest, and Wilson is the least athletic of the bunch. Sititi showed more in one game then Wilson has in five seasons.

    Wallabies 2024

There was some chat here about JS playing 12. But if I look at Ikitau’s attributes compared to the chosen one; he seems more like an inside centre to me. He has a short passing game, a good left foot boot and is relatively robust in traffic. If anyone watched JS in his union days, he wasn’t...

    Wallabies 2024

Ikitau doesn’t make 4 mistakes a game, and is occasionally threatening with the ball. There’s a clear difference.

    Wallabies 2024

Arguably he is irreplaceable- Australia doesn’t have many players with that athletic profile- big, quick and relatively skillful. He can play every outside back position and to quite a high standard; that’s extremely valuable in a 23.
