    Ireland v Wallabies - Sunday 1 Dec, 2:10 AEDT

I think you have just argued my point for me. We did get 100% success rate against Ireland where Skelton did not play so we had 2 primary jumpers on the field at all times and not just one. I was not dismissing the performance of Valetini or Wilson at all.

    Ireland v Wallabies - Sunday 1 Dec, 2:10 AEDT

In my opinion our best back row is undoubtably Valetini, McReight and Wilson. The problem with them is none of them are primary jumpers in the lineout, Valetini and Wilson are decent secondary surprise options but not your standard go to. If you play Skelton as well then you only have one...

Scotland v Wallabies at Murrayfield 12.40am Mon 25 Nov

Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that they wanted to see how both the defensive and attacking mauls went with Skelton, Valetini and Wilson in the lineup. Our maul defense would have probably been really strong but that is precisely why Scotland decided not to go to the maul that often on...

Wales v Australia, Monday 18 November 3:10am AEDT

The biggest issue facing Rugby in Australia is a lack of interest in the game by the public and mainstream press. Interest was up greatly after the win last week and in particular the arrival of a great hope in JAS. We now simply must win or all of the gains made with eyes on the game will be...

    England v Wallabies, Twickenham, Sun 10th Nov 2:10AEDT / 1:10AEST

Firstly, JS at outside centre is abject stupidity in my opinion. Len is one of the few world class players we have and his best position is 13. Don't move him to make way for a guy we have no way of knowing if he understands the defensive reads required in the defensively hardest position on the...

    Wallabies 2024

I don't think moving Len to 12 is a sensible idea at all. He plays well at 13 because he is a really strong lateral mover with quick feet and good hands. Move him to 12 and you negate his quick feet because he has less room to work in. That is why 12s traditionally are either crash ball types...

    Wallabies 2024

I would be careful using cyclists as the prime example for what sport's people put in their bodies. I think the above image showing Len beating 17 players pretty much highlights the Wallabies current issues. We don't have major issues when we are attacking. Yes, our forwards could bend the line...

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

The defensive plan we are running with at the moment is a passive defense designed to soak up pressure and exploit the opposition's mistakes. It is a perfectly acceptable if a little old-fashioned style of defense. The problem with it is that it requires that you play an extremely disciplined...

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

The problem with selecting Swain is he has a two-cent head. Yes, he brins a level of physicality that or pack has been severely lacking but it is too often not well directed physicality. You bring him into the team and you know the opposition are going to try to bait him and he will bite. We...

    Wallabies 2024

The discussion around Australian crowds and the lack of support for Australian players is an interesting one. I was not born in Australia but did grow up here and am a strong Wallabies supporter. However, I am very much in the minority of the people that I attend Rugby with. Most of them are...

    Wallabies 2024

Yes, when fit but not even the most one blue eyed Tahs supporter can possibly say that he is fit. Of the fit options available Kailea is the best LHP at the moment.

    Wallabies 2024

I assume that Wilkin is not fit. I would have chosen him as the replacement 7 as his game is probably closer to Fraser than anyone elses. He is strong over the ball, hits up well and will make a ton of tackles.

    Wallabies v Georgia 20 July - Allianz Stadium 3.45PM

I agree that Cale has more speed to play the wider channels while Leota is better in the tight. However, as I was stating Georgia will be bringing a game based around pure physicality and Leota may only be 5 kgs heavier than Cale but he plays much heavier than that. His game is a pure physical...

    Wallabies v Georgia 20 July - Allianz Stadium 3.45PM

Georgia aren't going to bring much subtlety to the table but they will bring physicality through the pack. I would rest Cale as they will likely target him as he lacks the pure physicality requires. If Wright is available obviously you bring him in and if Leota is fit I would have him coming off...

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

Actually I think I was right first time.

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

I am not sure playing more games is going to make more revenue. Our issue isn't that we don't play enough it is that there are other draws on the available money that the public has to spend on entertainment. The reason for the lack of support for Rugby and therefore revenue in Australia is that...

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

I actually hope for the good of the game in Australia they go overseas. Australian Rugby cannot keep paying all these players. Only one team, the Reds, are financially sustainable. The other three teams are either running at a serious loss and as such a drain on RA coffers or are being propped...

    Australian Rugby / RA

I agree with a lot of what you are saying here, survival is the key criteria for Rugby going forward. However, a failure to address the current over spend by the Super Rugby teams will ensure that target will become gradually harder and harder. It is purely a financial discussion for Australian...
