100%. I doubt you can afford a private school education on a scaffolders wage. Brisbane/Gold Coast have that many Islanders in the rugby community and almost all of the kids who are at the GPS schools are there on scholarships of some variety. I dont believe that many Islanders live in Sydney...

If you're worried about size in the Sydney schools comp, you'd thank the good lord that Aloy's/Trinity/Cranbrook aren't playing in the Brisbane GPS competition. I coach an u13 side in the Brisbane GPS competition as well as a side in the Brisbane Junior Rugby Union at 13 we have young Pasifika...

Not a true at all, the Nudgee U13 are far from a "big team" the majority of the Nudgee u13 play rugby on Sundays for Norths and Brothers. The Norths team don't even field a team in the division 1 competition and Brothers have forfeited the past 2 weeks. The best rugby competition in Qld at this...

imagine being a grown man spending your Saturday afternoon at a kids football match and being that "into it" that you feel the need to throw bottles at kids who are playing a game of Rugby that in the over all scheme of things means absolutely nothing..... imagine being that sad that you...

Waverley 1999 team could also pose as one of the great schoolboy teams, Stephen Hoiles, Morgan Turuni, Patrick Phibbs, the late Shawn Mackay all played rugby of some variety for Australia

no we played on Joeys #1 back in the mid 90s as a CAS school against Joeys in the 13A's. First year of high school and 2nd game ever for our school

I'd have to agree on your assesment of Zac Hough. I watched him play against Bond on the weekend and he certainly didn't look like the hyped up teenage superstar he was made out to be. Perhaps another schoolboy wonderkid who doesnt push on

No it wasnt Mummy and Daddy having a whine, the parent that was speaking with the coach was pretty shocked by how a grown man was speaking to a barely 18 year old kid, another persons kid. There was "you stupid f**** C***" being thrown around "Players name you dumb C***" It was pretty...

seriously? its a game of schoolboy rugby with nothing on the line except some bragging by rich old men who are struggling to let go of a school they went to for 6 years and left 30 years ago....

Speaking as a referee sometimes we miss these things, we might not have the best view of it from where we are. We dont have access to the TMO etc... in 1stXV games we would be relying on our AR. People need to calm down it's not like we miss things on purpose.

Bond coach in 1st Grade was an absolute embarrassment on Saturday. He was standing at the university end and berating, swearing and abusing his players. One of the parents of the boys in his team had to go over to him and have a word about his attitude. All is not well at Bond this year.

You'd have to search pretty hard to go past Sunnybank as the leading junior club. Only thing is they dont come back to the Bank once school rugby is over. In one club game last year there was something like 36 Sunnybank juniors playing 1st Grade at various clubs, then you have your juniors like...

they get told by schools that they cant play club. For instance we had one kid at our club who stopped playing club rugby this year when he was invited to do a pre season with the 1stXV squad essentially he was told he would be holding the pads but if he wanted to be considered to play 1stXV in...

as a coach of a division 1 team in the BJRU and coaching at a GPS school i could comfortably say the BJRU comp is far superior in quality than both the GPS and AIC competition until we reach the u16s. At my club we have kids playing in the A's across both GPS & AIC teams that cant make the...

    Qld GPS Rugby 2022

or we could have the club system as the premier pathway in the country.... plenty of great kids playing in the BJRU comps who for whatever reason dont have the funds to go to a GPS school, or the kid isnt "the next superstar" and cant get a scholarship when he is probably a far superior player...

for a 13 year old, he is actually quite an imposing fella, my son played against him in the carnival at Redcliffe. For him to match it with 15 years olds in terms of his physical size he is far superior to the majority of 13 years old running around. So i'll refer back to my point and that point...

13 year old kid, who has done a tremendous job to make this side, i do hope that he works on his core skills as his size wont matter for much when these other kids start to develop.
