I'd agree with you on most points Joker, as an old Knox Boy of the 90's. We had age group teams down the "G"'s in some years and when we were in year 12 we had down the the 12thXV! However a change of headmaster to a more "academic" headmaster, a demographic change and the allowing of student to...

    NSW AAGPS 2022

when we played Joeys's back in the 90's we always played on SJC1 and we were from Knox. The stories that use to fly around about this mythical untouchable rugby team, where the fields were heated and if the 1stXV lost they were hauled before the school assembly and given a verbal flogging!

only played 35 minutes, scored with his first touch. Sunnybank didnt lay a hand on him

maybe the only reason he go the contract was because of the Surname? There would be half a dozen 10's more worthy of a gig.

Powerhouse Aloys? Aloy's havent won a thing in my entire time (since 1991) associated with Knox as a student and as a parent, its always either Knox, Waverley or Barker, with all 3 schools regularly beating the might of St Josephs College in the 1stXV game.

mate, they all get scholarships from around u16 and head off to Terrace, Nudgee, TSS etc... once there they become mates with kids and the lure of playing with these after they finish school they generally end up at the club where all there school mates are going. The main focus at Sunnybank is...

No the League clubs pay the kids (and on most occasions brothers/sisters) school fees to ensure they are getting access to the best facilities a schoolboy can have. Most GPS schools arent doing the league thing, its the league clubs going to the school paying fees up front.

cant sign them at that age, however i do know of 6 kids in that age we manage that have been provided 100% scholarships to GPS schools and will be snapped up by clubs either here or overseas before they finish school

I can show you where we find them, get down and watch the BJRU junior competitions, there are some phenomenal kids running around in these age groups. A large number of them have slipped through the cracks because mum and dad can't afford GPS fees or they have been overlooked for a junior rep...

hahaha, plenty of ways to skin a cat. I work in talent ID for a sports management company. Almost 100% of our time is spent watching the 12/13/14's in the BJRU competition on a Sunday. This competition is the best rugby competition in Qld - better than the GPS competition, the AIC, and any of...

How is one a "utility hooker or slotting in at halfback" two very different positions with very different skill sets? Or does this mean Lauries are incredibly weak?

really sad that the majority of these kids seem to have aligned themselves with League.

if these "Academy" coaches got their heads out of the GPS system and came looking at some of the young public school kids - the 13-15 yr olds who are in my opinion far superior than their GPS counterparts they would be incredibly surprised. The young club team i look after (all non GPS kids)...
