Good win for St Peters, glad to finally see them in the winners circle. Looks like Marist's poor backline has finally been punished. Have been saying all season that centre pairing isn't up to it, looks like Eddies were the team to capatilise.

I think one of the reasons Ashgrove finished so well is they have players who are genuine game breakers. One or two players seem to hit another gear when things aren't looking good. (i.e. 26 -19 lauries charge down and freakish full field try swings the game, or breakaway try by no.5 off the...

    AIC Rugby 2011

I only caught the 2nd half yesterday, but saw the Marist 15 put in some good kicks and one freakish one to set up the try that blew lauries away. He seems to play at another speed to everyone else, he looks like he has so much time. My mate also told me that he is carrying an AC injury aswell...

    AIC Rugby 2011

So do you think the Marist and Lauries fullbacks are fighting for that AIC 1 spot? or are there some other contenders? that Marist one is the best I've seen so far.

This team seems to be very Ashgrove heavy... i think one of those Pats centres should be in 13, Renouf just hasn't done enough for me.

Very true twinkle toes, the Ashgrove 9, 10, 14 and 15 are all tremendous players who definetely need to be looked at for AIC selection. That's without even looking at the forward pack!!

That obviously explains a lot, against SPLC the 12 did a lot of move butchering. I'm just waiting for a team to exploit these errors in attack, because at the moment the Ashgrove team is giving anyone they play against a sniff.

    AIC Rugby 2011

My source did say that the inside and outside are great defensively but don't click in attack. I wasn't at the game so I don't know how they went, but I was at the SPLC game and I could count at least 3 tries that went begging because either the 12 dropped it or the 13 failed to give the ball...

    AIC Rugby 2011

heard the Ashgrove number 5 had a blinder, but the inside backs still look shaky. My source says that the 10, 12 and 13 of Ashgrove have been average (at best) this season, apparently if you up the pressure they shoot themselves in the foot.

Ashgrove beat pats by 12 Padua beat Villa by 2 St Peters by 6 Lauries beat Eddies by 10

    AIC Rugby 2011

Having seen 4 AIC fullbacks this year (SPLC, SPC, Padua, Ashgrove) the Ashgrove 15 has easily looked the best, his game against Peters on saturday was a class above. I will reserve my judgement for the AIC 15 spot until I see the Iona, Eddies, Villa and Lauries boys strut their stuff. At the...

    AIC Rugby 2011

St Peters vs Ashgrove - Quite a tough contest for favourites Marist brothers with the young SPLC team putting in a spirited display. Both team's backlines failed to click again with numerous drop balls when in possession, while the forward packs had a great contest at the set piece with the SPLC...

maybe Harry Moore and Jonno Kent of Ashgrove are in with a shout (for AIC) this year. Both had ok seasons last year but were in a poor Ashgrove team that failed to utilise them properly. Harry Moore is an outstanding ball runner/tackler and Jonno is lightning at fullback and will beat the first...
