Yes, Swinton has been very strong the last couple of games. I would not mind seeing him at 6 to give us a little starch.

Cale could easily play 6 and is taller and heavier than Liam Wright. Lachie Swinton has been looking OK. Not sure who else could play there or would be selected right now. Seru Uru is a good call. The dynamics of the pack will change dramatically if Skelton is eventually included for the RC. It...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

The writing was on the wall with many NSW contracts not being renewed this year. Once again RA have not handled it well and just look inadequate again. I am sure this decision was made some time ago. Sad days. The Rebels were a good side to watch, particularly this year. Where do all the players...

Uru? Hooper? Frost and LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) can do 4 and 6. I don’t think Holloway has done enough this year.

I guess that McReight and Valetini will be there if fit and in form. Valetini is an OK lineout target but not top line. In order to balance this back row you need Hooper or Cale or maybe Swinton. I would argue that Cale is the best lineout option of all of them and as good as the second rowers...

He can do just about everything Frost can and he's faster and has better ball skills. Frost is in the second row or on the bench. At 6/8 you need Valetini and Cale/Swinton/Hooper. Maybe Williams if you want someone with more grunt.

    Charlie Cale?
  8. Joe Blow

    Wallabies 2024

Yes, and he is even throwing straight!! Problem is that he goes down after every knock, taking himself out of the play. He played for near 80 mins on the weekend, which was a good effort. Not sure if Schmidt will go for him but he is solid in the scrum.

    Wallabies 2024

After the weekends rugby a few put their hands up. Tom Wright was exceptional for the Brumbies. He really does need to be in the back 3 somewhere. With him and Kellaway there is the opportunity to throw an out and out speedster on the vacant wing. Young Tim Ryan seems to have something special...

Include him as a coach if needed but surely he will not be included as a player. Having mentors within the group looks to be a big deal for Schmidt, and as we know, experience is king in test rugby. However, any player included as a player/coach needs to be able to hold his own on the pitch. If...

Except he is not test standard. has not been for a while. He would be the 4th ranked 10 at the Reds.

    Wallabies 2024

Not sure if Mark N (Nawaqanitawase). warrants a spot based on form so far this year and he is leaving. However we have 3 exciting new young wingers whose form is all a worth a look at and consideration given to including them. Kellaway ALWAYS takes the right option and his nose for a gap and the line are...

His and CGs goal kicking is worse than average for the season. I think they are around 60%. Noah Lolesio is around 90%. Donaldson was 100% yesterday but when not under pressure. Lolesio gets the gig but who is the understudy?
  14. Joe Blow

    Wallabies 2024

He certainly did not do his chances any harm this week. I’m not a huge fan but i would certainly have him before CG. He kicked 8 out of 8 this week and created a good chunk of the play. His kicking in general play was also long and accurate.

I think Sio is a realistic Giteau pick at this point. He has played a ton of footy and is going very well by all accounts. Hopefully Bell is back for TRC.

    Wallabies 2024

I reckon McReight is pretty close to being as good as Hooper. Better in some ways. His linking game is superior as are his ball skills. He looks bigger than Hooper and has a similar sized motor. He should start at 7. Gordons game yesterday did not help his cause. His passing game was off, as was...

No mention of him here, or Toole for that matter. https://www.theroar.com.au/2024/05/02/the-five-young-guns-who-should-be-celebrated-and-the-one-that-is-wallabies-ready/ I agree with all of that. Cale is ready to at least be in the squad and competing for a cap or two. They all have big...

    Wallabies 2024

Tom Lynagh just seems to read the play very well. He often turns up in the right place at the right time to make a crucial tackle and his passing/kicking game is cultured. He also does not shirk the hard stuff and puts his body on the line repeatedly. There is a lot of improvement to be had...

    Wallabies 2024

Foley is playing very well in Japan ATM and I’m sure Schmidt is taking notice. You would have to think that Schmidt will pick a 10 who can kick for goal, in general play and can distribute well enough. He will need someone solid who the rest of the team can rely on and work off. That would be...

    Wallabies 2024

I am not sure. Michael Hooper most likely even though he was not there. Certainly the blame does not fall at the players feet. It was EJs crazy party. Up until the year or so prior to the RWC Will Skelton was reluctant to play for the Wallabies and I am still not sure if his prominent provincial...
