    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Time to start a 2025 thread for the Rebels / RugbyVic stuff. Topic has moved here: https://greenandgoldrugby.com/community/threads/melbourne-rebels-2025-and-beyond.19796/

    Melbourne Rebels 2025 and beyond...

2024 is over, and the pain is still there for many fans, but there is still plenty to discuss. Chief among the topics is the ongoing legal matter. Feel free to any and Rebels / RugbyVic content here.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

The order from 29 January is also interesting - PEP stating they should talk to another one of their entities. DEloitte stating something similar, but actually providing a name. Feels like they're on the right track for information...

I could eat Sushi (salmon sashimi) and Chicken Katzu Curry Don all day and never get sick of it.

With Joe finishing up after TRC, anything is possible. https://www.theroar.com.au/2025/02/06/breaking-schmidt-to-quit-wallabies-job-after-rugby-championship/?fbclid=IwY2xjawIRY6FleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHa1eBMwUJfHYzwgf8XY-AX_bpEDZqMo4gTI-1Xcj3dT980hapdE4h7utZw_aem_R9R8w3EZsj1uUhoqI4HB_Q

    Wallabies 2025

So Joe Schmidt indicating he will only step up until TRC this year is probably the most unremarkable Wallabies thing I've heard all day. Done so many good things for the Wallabies, but family comes first...

    Lions Tour 2025

Last RWC down here was wonderful. Tickets for AUS v IRE were so hard to buy I had to meet a guy at TAB in Knox City for some over-priced seats. Ifs that not a red flag for trouble I don't know what is...

    Lions Tour 2025

True, but Stade de France doesn't host a fair chunk of a NRL season which can only be brutal on the surface. Can't imagine Soccer would be that brutal on the surface condition.

    Lions Tour 2025

Can use that extra profit to fund the Rebels :)

    Lions Tour 2025

I'd think a semi-final at least, and a few pool games, would make the most sense to me. Setting aside the $$$'s for a second, imagine running two semis and a final on the same surface, not to mention the numerous pool games. Can't imagine Homebush surface would hold up that well.

    Lions Tour 2025

Oh yea, feel that is obvious. WR (World Rugby) would have been furious to pose potentially ~ $20 - 30min in ticket and hospo by not hosting in Melbourne.

    Lions Tour 2025

Sounds like polling from the leaked articles didn't go down so well, or WR (World Rugby) have cracked the almighty shits. Getting loads of popcorn to see how this plays out. Would love to know how they are still in contention.

They took Eddie off our hands. That's a pretty big favour for Aus Rugby.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Not sure on Atko, but Peter Fairbain used to visit here, back in his Rebels days.

    Lions Tour 2025

[gestures towards St Kevins College] Gym right next to field one and two, so it's a winning deal. Sione is gonna be busy there anyway, so might as well make it easier on the team - they'll need all the help they can get.

Probably a coupla Stereophonics tickets and a free feed at the pub every night.

Looks like you find our ideal outfit for the wet t-shirt competition later tonight at Dismal's house. Also looks like you've quite warmed up for the event. Should be a ripper.

    Northern Hemisphere/6N Rugby

Would have thought anything south of Rome wouldn't be strong Rugby territory. Having said that, I was once in a Sorrento Bard and the place was covered in Rugby jeserys. Was a mini shrine to the Wallabies, but mostly Azurri stuff.

    Australian Rugby / RA

Personally, not a fan. Considering how much I had to grind for my Level 2. Oh well...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Level 2 (now, community coach) consisted of a 2-day course, 60-hour coaching diary, and a mentoring program. Mine was spread over 18 months, mainly because I couldn't line up a time with my mentor. It's part compliance, but I did learn a lot from my course. One of my old blindspots was I said...
