    Melbourne Rebels 2024

You're totally right. If RA had the best interests of Australian rugby at heart, they wouldn't defend themselves and countersue. They'd roll over, bankrupt the game, and pay a small fortune to those absolutely inept fucking dunces that make up the Rebels leadership team and help them dodge their...

I agree. And looking at his most recent Instagram post, he had a blast too. Which can only increase our chances of him wanting to return down the track. https://www.instagram.com/p/DA0VWBFTLTX/?igsh=bXhod29iNzIwamRr

The commentators were great weren’t they. Zero skin in the game on cheering for one team over another - just having a blast watching a fun rugby game. Also quite funny how in this and the previous Aus vs NZ Barbarians game Kingsley Uys has become a cult figure for them. Lots of fun.

Thought the 4 and 10 shone as well. To be fair the whole team did, great effort.

Reckon NZ lucky there’s no TMO too. That last high shot with about 3 mins to go on the Aus winger looked pretty bad in real time. Lined him up.

Half time, Aus 19 NZ 12. Really fun game to watch so far. Aus dominant so far but will be kicking themselves not going into the break with more points.

There’s a link on this page that will take you to the YouTube channel I think. 2pm tomorrow. https://www.rugby.com.au/news/australia-u18s-lock-in-side-to-face-new-zealand-schools-2024104

I’m confused. So the Aus u18 team is different from the Aus Schoolboy team?

It’s a fair analysis. Some clearly poor defensive choices made. I really like Wilson but I’ve generally been keen on having Hooper at #6 instead. But Williams pushed out to #6 if Skelton is brought in makes sense too.

Knock on happened before the yellow card infringement. Surely Ikitau comes back on?

Hang on. Were we just penalised for not rolling when our man was pinned in the ruck? After what we saw go against us a few times earlier? Fucking LOL.

Kind of unfair to blame the defence - that was an unreal step from Sititi. Incredibly nimble for a big man.

    Australian Rugby / RA

I sympathise with both camps here. I’d prefer a thriving trans-Tasman competition myself, but I remain hugely sceptical that RA and NZR are capable of making the required adjustments to get it there.

We know we lose a lot of forward running size and punch when Bell and Tupou get subbed off. With this in mind, are we better keeping LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) and BPA on the bench to balance this out?

I recall a lot of came from quick turnover ball too. An area where NZ regularly ream us. Once we tidied that up it became a contest.
