Quite a few players from that 20/21 cohort have flown under the radar somewhat. They should start making their mark in Prem grade over this season and next.

Sounds like they wanted the extra week off

I think he was the Red's MVP. Outstanding Job.

Super Rugby Rnd 2: Waratahs v Reds AKA The 2022 Festival of Hate.

Good win by the reds. But perplexed about the Tah's not taking the easy points in the first half when it was bucketing down.

What's your figure then? That 90% do? Have a look at the churn (outside of Thorn's group that he has taken through from the U18s.) I'll stick to 3 or 4 making it to the Reds from the academy each year. The vast majority don't.

They are currently contracted, so I guess they are already a professional rugby players. Whether they have a long and successful career who knows. But from what I've seen of them to date there's others in their respective clubs that should be ahead of them in the pecking order for playing Prems...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2022

Are the clubs at fault for not playing them in 1st Grade given their academy status or is the Academy at fault for contracting them? Neither. The Reds are a professional club who are trying to develop and tie up talent to meet their future needs, they are not a representative team of the best...

Stoked for Spencer getting his shot.

If you are correct, I'm not sure how Whiteside, Dobbins and co would feel about playing 2nd Grade intermittently. Greener pastures for them? Norths could do with a bolster. But in all seriousness, it's a fine line between winning titles and hollowing out the club.

No need to change the rules... "be registered by a certain date and play the minimum number of games ( 6 for a regular season) and you qualify to play finals" This is fair on the players that get the club to the finals and reduces the he who has the "biggest wallet" to parachute players in...

Agree completely, I rate Spencer as a legit back up to Tate, but I think Kalani will get one more chance to show he's the first cab off the rank.

    Reds 2022

With Thorn being a bit of a traditionalist, I think Kalani will get the nod over Spencer - Due to the show boating that cost a try and give Kalani a shot at proving his worth.

Isn't he the same height as Thorn, who did alright at Super Rugby for a pygmy lock.

Don't all these Covid Mandates/rules expire with the "state of emergency" ending on the 26th March? unless they extend of course, but I think that would be political suicide.

    Rugby 7s general chat

Good to see the circuit back up and running. The NSW's 7's did well, they could probably make the final if they got a couple of players from other States to bolster their squad.

I think Halaholo is playing for Newcastle in the Shute shield, so that might be wishful thinking.

I think Pat, Kelevi and Buzz will make a pretty good team at Norths. PC I think your 7 years is a bit of a stretch and smacks of sour grapes. You loose talent when there's only so many seats at the table, something the Filth should be used too. In Kelevi's case, he's been jerked around and Carl...

The agents represent the player, not the Club, QRU or RA. They are there to help the player maximize the players revenue and present opportunities to the player to meet the players goals whether they be financial or aspirational. Reds need to build a bridge and get over it as RA has judging by...
