    Wallabies 2023

I think you are going to encounter that dynamic regardless of who comes in.

    Wallabies 2023

This right here is the big hope I think i.e. that what we saw in that 30 minutes is what they are aspiring to do for 80 minutes. It went pear shaped when we lost Alan and then Tupou and then fatigue set in and we lost a lot of our structure and intent. Which, for mine, is why Eddie saw it more...

I think Gleeson has to get the run at 7 this week - he makes all those tackles Hooper makes and provides an attacking threat as well. Unless they are seeing something at training they don't like about him.

I think Eddie will want to see what some other players can offer this week. Not expecting a massive shake up but he said that’s why he threw Tom Hooper in and I don’t see why he wouldn’t apply that to some other players. Eg Gleeson for Hooper, Leota for Holloway, Philip for Arnold. Probably...

    Wallabies 2023

I think it’s fair to say the jury is out, but I’m happy to wait till after the World Cup before making that statement. The team is no doubt still adapting to a different plan, which is quite clear when Tom Hooper is the #7, and he is also still unsure about who the best options are in some...

    Wallabies 2023

That’s actually not true. Eddies last wins were against Wales and Italy earlier this year. Rennies last wins were against Wales and Scotland late last year.

Wallabies 2023 World Cup Positivity Thread

Last nights start and the rain giving a bit of a breather certainly puts them in a position to get an outright victory. It was a comment on their most recent performance, that being the previous 2 days play which were terrible. But yes regardless of the outcome tonight they will be boarding...

That sounds like Slipper and Pone covering THP, Bell & Schoupp covering LHP. Nonggorr & Lambert the back ups

I did get a photo as evidence but I wasn’t sure what the protocol was with putting something like that up. Plus the big Fijian guy who was one of the subjects may not have appreciated it. So I deleted it.

I am in the R M Williams store in the city as we speak - there is a a bit of the Wallabies stuff left only a few gold and blue jerseys though. I am people watching while the others browse leather goods, the people looking at the RA merch are definitely not the stereotypical types that the...

    Wallabies 2023

I have had similar thoughts. Even as far as thinking we couldn’t be any worse off if we ditch Quade and start putting some minutes into Donaldson. He put the broom through the England squad when he took over after 2015 RWC, that would be pretty analogous to this? Much deeper player pool though.

Wallabies 2023 World Cup Positivity Thread

The Wallabies are probably outperforming compared with the performances by their counterparts in the Ashes and the Women’s soccer World Cup, and keeping a lower profile.

That’s all you need to do. You’ll rollout your 2nd XV with one of those ridiculously strong ‘just in case’ benches to come on and put us out of our misery when we’re all getting excited that we’re in with a chance with 20 to go.

He is chief disruptor, that doesn’t show up in the stats but was pretty noticeable watching. Arnold is the chief tall bloke.

    Bledisloe 1: 29 July @ MCG

It doesn’t make a lot of sense at face value, but if Eddie has come in and discovered ‘shit, these blokes aren’t fit enough’, there is only one way to really fix that in the short amount of time we have. Cheika found the same thing you might recall. Rennie didn’t seem to have as much concern...

The THP issues may Force Eddies hand here with the need for Slipper to potentially cover both sides. Maybe not for this week but for the RWC squad

I thought Hooper was OK but you would expect the open side flanker playing 80 minutes to top the tackle count. He also fell off a few noticeably, 5 according to the stats. Frost was up there defensively as well, and Leota’s stats based on minutes played were probably the best of the 3...
