    Brumbies vs Cheetahs Prelim 2

No, but I have played in a carnival in Cape Town in August and it was cold and wet. We've had three days of steady light rain in Canberra and the next winter storm is due on Friday. I hope Jake has been getting the team out on the oval in these conditions.

    Brumbies vs Cheetahs Prelim 2

Will do. Got my ACT Vets jacket and the thermals I got in Sun Peaks, Canada. A few of the ski.com.au crew have booked me for a half-day private lesson the following weekend and it should be good if this storm delivers the goods, as well as the added bonus of freezing the Cheetahs' nuts off.

    Brumbies vs Cheetahs Prelim 2

LOL They're getting excited over on the ski.com.au weather forum, aren't they? I've ensured a "three foot storm" for this weekend as I'm not going to be in Thredbo!

    Brumbies vs Cheetahs Prelim 2

They won't when they hear the forecast for Canberra for this weekend - rain and possible snow down to 800m elevation.

Super Rugby 2013, the run home

I'd like to see a top 2 finish for the Brumbies but for purely selfish reasons I'd be happy for them to finish third as I'm going to be home that weekend (19/20 July) and can make the game. I'm working in Thredbo the following weekend and won't be able to make it to see the game live at Canberra...

    Brumbies vs Hurricanes - Round 16 - 31 May 2013

Heard on ABC radio driving home that Fotu has a fractured arm.

Waratahs Crusaders Friday 31st May 5:40pm AEST

Just think it's a 76 point improvement from a decade ago.

    Pubs for the Lions' Tour

So Moses and cyclopath will I be seeing you down at Thredbo this year? I'm easy to find, just look for the instructor at the Friday Flat clock tower at 0915 on Saturdays ;) The owner at Bernti's is a hoot, I've seen her in full flight. I go there when there's a game on that's not live on...

    Pubs for the Lions' Tour

If you're at the snow, Bernti's at Thredbo has two screens and they generally show rugby on both screens in preference to league. The mungos have the bistro in the Alpine Hotel.

    lions are just big pussies

Add to that the lone Wallabies supporter at the Melbourne Test in 2001 who, when the tide of the match turned, belted out to the tune of "Bread of Heaven": You're not singing You're not singing You're not singing anymoooooore

    Brumbies vs Crusaders - R12

Should be a good crowd - a Sunday afternoon game and Canberra has been experiencing an extended Indian Summer, plus George Smith becomes the Brumby with the most Super Rugby caps (passing George Gregan). The school and uni holidays are over so the UC students should be back to their colourful...

    Chiefs vs Sharks

What are the odds that Anscombe's kick in the nuts is going to feature in 'Plays of the Week'?

Horwill's STOMP and claims the Reds weren't penalised enough

It's the Canberra Times. Most people down this way know not to take the CT too seriously. If you want to know what's going on in Canberra you read the RiotACT blog.

Is it time to change the name of the Waratahs?

 not the players, the management.

Is it time to change the name of the Waratahs?

Giving it some more thought, the most accurate name would be the Uni-Randwick Waratahs.

Is it time to change the name of the Waratahs?

Great selective quoting, are you a Labor politician? Note the 'but' - the fact is the Waratahs do not represent at least a third of the state of New South Wales. I have no problems if they called themselves the Sydney and Central-Northern NSW Waratahs as that would accurately reflect the...

Is it time to change the name of the Waratahs?

Wikipedia, what an authoritative source. They can call themselves whatever they like but the fact is they do not represent the state of New South Wales. I live in NSW (and have done for most of my life) and the Waratahs do not represent me. I'm pleased that the New Zealand television coverage...

Is it time to change the name of the Waratahs?

Don't see a problem with the Waratahs name but they are NOT New South Wales. The Waratahs franchise area ends at Nowra, Moss Vale, Cowra, Forbes and somewhere north of the lower Lachlan and Murrumbidgee rivers. The Southern Inland, Monaro and South Coast are part of the Brumbies franchise area.
