    Wallabies 2024

Tom is a bit distant, he may have had something to do with it but I'd say it's his actual uncle Graydon who played a bigger hand as he also played for Aurillac as his last pro gig before coming back to Aus. Talking of his cousins though, his cousin Harry (Scott's son) is one of his school peers...

    Wallabies 2024

We are all entitled to an opinion but rightly or wrongly the Waratahs coach(es) didn't share this one. The other key difference is that Mosese is automatically eligible for Scotland, plus his brother probably threw out a lure, whereas Angus has to stay in France for 3 years without coming back...

    Wallabies 2024

Yeah I'd say it's more about capping him so he can't come back here in case he does improve infinitely.

    Queensland Reds 2025

That is true but I think I read Lynagh will play the first Reds game to get match fit, and potentially either Edmed or Donaldson will drop back to Aus A along with some others.

Nor Blyth. It's probably an indication of what the actual make up of the first Australia XV team will be.

    Wallabies 2024

I think it's probably this, and his experience playing in the UK generally, that has him running opposed sessions against our midfielders. I'll be surprised if he gets a cap, if he does good on him. Certainly isn't worth making a song and dance about though.

    Wallabies 2024

At this stage he's not capped - my uneducated read on this is that he needs centre cover. I had expected Schmidt to blood Sua'ali'i into the system by playing him in the centres for the A team. I was wrong, he is instead going to blood him as an outside back in the Wallabies. It's Sua'ali'i who...

    Wallabies 2024

I've said this before but I am sure Schmidt was appointed purely to try to build a team and game plan that is competitive against the Lions. I'd normally be largely on board with TomThumb's thinking, but these are not normal times. The start of his tenure was a line in the sand and we need to...

U18 Academy Games and Australia U18s

In fairness the mungoes were paying his full school fees, and had him on a professional contract. There have been plenty of other examples of kids on pro contracts being able to play sports outside the curriculum - golf, tennis, sailing are a few, plus Hugh Bowman as an apprentice jockey. Also...

    Wallabies 2024

You might get a bit of pushback from a few of our Southern NSW friends on this.

    Wallabies 2024

That's pretty normal for us, or vice versa. I'm not saying it should be, but I'm not judging the coach on it. FWIW I think it's pretty clear that Schmidt's coaching brief is all about the Lions tour in 2025, sure we shouldn't normally accept as much collateral damage on the way there but we...

What is the difference between Super Rugby Pacific 2024 and Super Rugby Pacific 2024?

Gee I'm glad I dropped in here for a look at what's happening in 2025 and landed 3 pages back.......

That’s good, well done to the reds intern

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

Yes, I said I wasn’t going to criticize him. If you do what the officials did (and me initially) and ignore the late and illegal hit from cane it was a shit kick. Once you factor that in it was a rehearsed play that should have ended better than it did. I am surprised the commentators and...

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

I just watched it again and you are 100% correct. So now it’s apologies to Noah Lolesio and I am not going to criticize Paisami with my newly amended post.

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

Apologies to Tom Wright, it was Lolesio. Minute 52, it was the next 10 minutes the ABs scored 2 tries. I have amended my original post.

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

I think it’s because everyone has been taught a rush defense system but we are going back to Laurie’s 1950s system and it’s against all the players’ natural instincts. It could prove to be a master stroke but it certainly isn’t working at the moment.

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

I put this on the Wobs24 thread, i think he is earmarked as our solution at 12. And I agree, there is no value at putting him on the wing if this is the case. He’s being paid a fortune so to start with just put him in the Aus A side in whatever position they want him to play, he’ll probably...
