    Australian Super Rugby crowd figures

The aggregate should increase this year due to additional games and an additional market (Melbourne). Average figures will decrease though and my impression is that the Tah's crowds have been on a steady slide for some years.

    Burke strikes back

I have to rely on memories as to why I used like Burke. With each article, the strength of those memories fades. At least Campo, who is too often the target of criticism, is honest with himself when he writes. Burke is self deluded and wrong. If the Tahs did understand their problems, did...

How Many Tests Should Countries Play A Year?

Slightly off topic, but I'd pay a lot of cash to see a Bledisloe at Twickers. I think they'd get a massive crowd of mostly Australians and Kiwis. Countries shouldn't be able to send second string touring teams. The ABs are in a unique position of being able to switch XVs and still win. I don't...

Coops and SBW together in 2013?

When O'Connor was playing 10 for the Force, there would have been arguments that he was the best 5/8 in Australia. Steve Larkham's back in town too...

    Waratahs vs Force - 2011R12

    Brumbies 2011

    I didn't realise they were recruiting for a wing/fullback.

    Eddie Jones: Stopping Sonny Bill

Jamie Roberts, Jean de Villiers, Jaque Fourie, Robbie Fruean, Stirling Mortlock, Yannick Jauzion, Basteauraud (sp?)...there are plenty of big, skilful centres in rugby.

    Wallaby Outside Centre

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) put in a dominant defensive performance at 12 against the Baa Baas a few years ago.

    The spirit of French rugby

I've had a few mates play in France. One, a lock, was king hit by a winger in one of his early games when a brawl started and he stepped back to let it play out. The ref saw it and said: "Welcome to french rugby Aussie." That was at least 10 years ago now and I'm sure things have changed.

    Reds vs Waratahs, 2011R10

If it's his calf rather than bicep keeping him out there might be a good reason (Matt Burke having the job not being a good reason) he hasn't done that already.

    Blues v NSW Waratahs @ Auckland - 2011R09

There was no urgency and the attitude was lacking. Even those players who did well weren't desperate. It looks to me as though the Tahs camp isn't necessarily a happy one. They're certainly not playing for each other. Also, Mrs Carter, I'm sorry I've criticised Tom in the past. He's a rock for...

    Blues v NSW Waratahs @ Auckland - 2011R09

The reason Turner didn't score the try is because he didn't move the ball to his outside arm. Bad finishing. Nothing to do with the tackle.

    NSW Rugby obvservations

Having played a fair bit of both, even the best country provincial teams are only 2/3 grade standard. That's assuming you could get the blokes from the whole zone travelling to training 3 nights a week plus travelling for games. A NSW country side played in a preseason comp in around 1997, but...

    who is confirmed to leave?

It was less than six months ago many on here were suggesting Burgess should be starting for the Wallabies in front of Genia. His energy, passion and commitment are hugely important to the teams he plays in. Make no mistake, he's a loss to Australian rugby and, notwithstanding Phipps fine efforts...

    Wallabies 3rd choice RWC hooker.

That was fp's point. Fainga'a and Fitzpatrick are the loose hookers and they're ranked 1 and 2.

    Hard men of australian rugby

You are, of course, right about it being Wales. I also concede your knowledge is far greater than mine in this era Bruce. However, I do recall that the Wallabies did need to stand up for themselves at the time. I've met Steve Finnane; nice chap.

    Hard men of australian rugby

Was it a king hit Bruce? In that series, the Lions were playing schoolyard bully were they not? A dog eat dog type of situation?
