    Wallabies v Springboks, Brisbane.

It's the old subcontinental cricket ploy. Do whatever you want, and if anyone calls you on it throw a hysterical hissy mudslinging fit until the original issue is forgotten.

    The Rugby Club, PdV, Canno

So long as Divvy keeps saying what most Saffas secretly and not-so-secretly believe I can't see him getting into any lasting trouble. Losses for the Springboks are what'll sink him, not press-conferences.

    Wallabies v Springboks, Brisbane.

Deja vu for Hodgson. Same thing happened last season IIRC. He lasted slightly longer this time around.
  4. JJJ

    All Blacks vs Springboks, Wellington

He's really not taking it lying down: http://www.planetrugby.com/story/0,25883,16024_6272547,00.html I wonder if this will affect the reffing of the Wallabies vs Boks match in Brisbane?
  5. JJJ

    Wallabies v Springboks, Brisbane.

We seem somehow to have lost our underdog status for this test. How the HELL did that happen??
  6. JJJ

    Wallabies v Springboks, Brisbane.

Is there a reason Mumm would make a better 6 than an 8?
  7. JJJ

    Wallabies v Springboks, Brisbane.

What's the deal with Bakkies Botha? Some news sites are reporting that he's just signed a deal with Toulon. Talking out of their arses?
  8. JJJ

    Wallabies v Springboks, Brisbane.

Apparently he reffed the NZ vs Wales match last month in Carisbrook. I didn't see the match.
  9. JJJ

    Wallabies v Springboks, Brisbane.

According to wikipedia it's George Clancy (Ireland). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_Tri_Nations_Series But I read Nigel Owens on another board. So I dunno. Anyone but Alan Lewis.

    All Blacks vs Springboks, Wellington

Pig headed enough for one game (the one just played), but he'll change things up against Australia. Losing to NZ in NZ is one thing, but he knows that if they lose to Australia as well it'll be the beginning of the end for him.

    Wallabies Tri Nations

Has he played at 6 under the new tackle interpretations?

All Blacks vs Springbokke : Auckland

Looks like our best chance this 3N is if both sides pick up key injuries in the first 2 matches. I doubt it'll happen. We'd have at least one injury by now.

Front Row Development - about time

Hmm, don't know what to make of that. He's never played the bloody game. Maybe what he's really best suited for is being a WWF wrestler, or olympic weight-lifter. (Disclaimer: I know nothing about scrum training.) What I'd like to see for scrum development is our first and second packs...

Quade Cooper trial - the result

Probably just as well. The possibility of jailtime seems to have focused his concentration remarkably this season. Actually this committal could be a timely shot-in-the-arm for his form ahead of the trinations. Maybe someone should roofie giteau and set him up for a burglary. Of course given...

Mark Ella calls it like it is

Probably because we're all willing to be immediately wrong (because our jobs don't depend on being right), whereas they're wrong only after long and careful consideration.

CONVICTUS (PART 1): Kurtley Beale found not guilty

IIRC this story broke very shortly after the QC (Quade Cooper) stink filled the headlines. Looked suspicious then and looks more suspicious now.

    Bokke vs France

I'm not saying I wouldn't pick him at 15 if I were a Bok selector. It seems to be a spot where the options are all relatively weak. I'm just wondering why he seems to be held in such universally high regard in SA (or since Hamilton at least -- can't remember him getting talked up all that much...

    Bokke vs France

I really don't get the SA hype around F Steyn. Aside from a couple of 50m drop-goals and some 60m penalties against the ABs last season, what has he done? He doesn't offer much in attack, kicking aside. He seems to me to be little more than a poor back-rower with a huge boot. Yet the Saffas...
