    Qld Premier Rugby 2012

Does anyone know the Logan v Brothers scores? They are missing from the results along with Bothers v Sun Coast Colts Premier Wests 27 (M Lee S Fagese A Walters tries B Lainchbury 2 pens 3 cons) d GPS 20 (J Lalagavesi J Rasolea T Winkley tries P Smith pen con) Sunnybank 73 (P Less 3 tries H Taefu...

    Women's Rugby Union

I think the ARU is an easy target here. Relatively they have done more for women in Rugby than any state body or club. They have to answer to the ASC and the AOC so they would get hammered if there was inequity. If competition managers made women's Rugby a priority there would be more teams...

    IS OUR GAME GROWING?

There are more people sampling Rugby but less people playing regular Rugby. Playing numbers in Brisane seniors are down 10% for the 2nd year in a row with teams numbers significantly down. The U17 & U16 BJRU comps had to be combined because there were not enough teams for discreet competitions...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2012

Logan certainly have a good facility now which is better located to attract players than before. The issue is that the current participation numbers in Brisbane have decreased 10% pa over the last 2 years with a large decrease in team numbers as well this year. Logan is not fielding a Colts team...

How much does it cost to build a Rugby Field?

The attached company is laying 6 fields a year in Wellington. Cost is about $1M but you will have a surface that will take oodles more traffic and is an all weather surface. The surfaces are IRB approved and are very common place overseas. When you consider clubs like Wests spend a lot on...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2012

How did all the 4th Grade and QSRU fare with the new scrum replacement rules on the weekend which makes a team play a player short if they start with non-contested drums but then have a front rower injured? I think it is good for grades who have someone playing before them but the effect on the...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2012

We need to be careful what we are wishing for here. The reality is that club Rugby is governed and predominantly resourced by volunteers via NFP incorporated associations. To the best of my knowledge nobody has ever been found criminally or civilly negligent for a death or permanent disability...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2012

There is nothing in generic Rugby policy that requires a doctor to be in attendance at a game. It has been convention to have one there for Premier Rugby although there are only a handful of clubs that comply. Almost all amateur Rugby (Junior & Senior) operates without a doctor and operates...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2012

Dion is progressing well. He has a good kick and passes with width well. He has some work to do on his defence and when at the line with ball in hand but he has that X factor you cannot coach into someone. I would predict that he may weak pick up a contract withe the 6th Australian franchise (7s...

    Women's Rugby Union

It is amusing how so many people see 7s as either a threat or only as a feeder/development system to 15s. I understand the strong emotional and traditional attachments to many elements of Rugby. I fully understand this as things such as touring, drinking with mates and opposition, playing club...

    Women's Rugby Union

Sunnybank followed up their win over University on Saturday by defeating the Touring British Army team 15 - 12. The girls dominated through the backs and on broken driving ruck play while doing enough to match it up front against the much bigger Army girls. As previously said the focus on 7s has...

http://www.redsrugby.com.au/PremierRugby/FixturesResults.aspx If you go to the results section of the website and click on the game the Sunnybank team list is already entered. I think the result was 17 - 3 to Sunnybank

    Women's Rugby Union

This is why 7s is such a great game for women. It focuses on athletic skills and large girls who generate their size from obesity alone do not compete. Also clubs need to put programs in place for girls as well and probably before the state and national union. Sunnybank have a development...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2012

Didn't see the game but the quality of recruitment should have favored Easts. Also the trend of the thread has heavily favored an Easts win over Brothers. Academy players are semi-professional and should perform at a level better than the amateur grunters Brothers fielded. Again, well done Brothers!

    QLD Premier Colts 2012

Brothers beat Easts and Norths beat GPS. Uni, Sunnybank and Gold Coast were top 3 last year and it looks like little has changed. Poor result for Easts considering Brothers fared poorly in the trials versus Uni, Sunnybank and GPS. Especially considering their program doesn't develop any...

    Genia to the Force?

Kings resigned with the Rebels this week. He was treated poorly at the Reds by the old school brigade. His life has turned around at the Rebels.

Great result for GPS who are the competition favorites with daylight second. Souths made a big call canceling the games today as the wet weather would have aided them and Sunnybank will have their stars back in July. Congratulations to Brothers and Matt Kaye but it is a worrying that the lions...

    Reds 2013

Why not just hold a free ticket draw to play halfback! Frisby was a cover all bases, budget signing. You have the best halfback committed for the rest of the season, you play him. Welcome to professional Rugby.
