    Southern Inland Rugby 2011

Round 15 With only two rounds remaining in the regular season, the top four are set for the finals. The only thing that can change now is who is positioned 1st or 2nd and who is positioned 3rd or 4th in both divisions. This has an impact on the finals series because all the teams know who they...

    Brumbies 2012

Kooga are ordinary as far as kit goes. If anyone is buying gear for 2012 for their local club, give Samurai a call (Cameron Lillicrap is the Director), they do a sensational job.

I think my predictions are out the window mate!! I would expect the ladder to stay roughly as it is. What are your thoughts?

    Southern Inland Rugby 2011

I think Tahs will get up this weekend. CSU have played some good footy so far, but just aren’t keeping pace with the top 3 sides (neither are RARC or Griffith really) and if the Tahs perform the way they did last week, CSU won’t get close to them. Reddies have set themselves a solid base for...

    Brumbies 2012

I think Laurie Fisher is underrated as a coach. It's good to see the Viking back at the Brums.

IRB Law amendments post RWC 2011

antipodean I think the card system is fine. So long as the referee is consistent with his calls, there shouldn't be a drama. The problem is that there are so many possible infringements at any one time that it generally comes down to the infringement that has the most direct impact on the...

I saw Uni-Norths early in the year playing some trial games. They have some genuine pace in the backs, as well as some handy forwards, but their discipline and attitude were pretty ordinary. They were bickering with eachother and easily baited by the opposition.

The Scariest War Dances - Pre Match Rituals

I've seen some pretty decent displays of Walk On, but that is tops.

Line-out Laws & Tactics, any fellow back rowers out there? Need advice!

I agree with both posts above. Definitely talk to your coach and put your point across. Lee's on the money as far as actually getting to the halfback, you'd either be Usain Bolt or it would be a poor throw from the lineout jumper for you to get there that quick for OT ball. My advice would...

Round 14 Premier Division Griffith (5) v CSU (3) So, this is a bit of a bogey game for the Reddies. They are travelling to the MIA to play the Blacks at the Coro Club and the Griffith boys will be keen to make a dent in CSU in this one. My gut feeling is that CSU will get away with a win...

IRB Law amendments post RWC 2011

I was a fan of the fast scrum call, but with some experience under my belt, the longer call (not as ridiculously long as the S15 refs) has made a huge difference at 'community level' rugby. I find that the front rows generally try to pre-empt the engage call to try and win the hit and I've found...

John I Dent Cup - Canberra Competition -

I played for Easts in 2002 (we finished 5th), and found the club culture very different. I came from a club with a good 'culture' and really found mental toughness wasn't there. We had some handy players in that team (Eddie Langi B&F for the comp) but the whole season didn't seem to gel and that...

Hey rugbyfollower, i wouldn't write the Tahs off either mate, i just think that they will finish lower than second on the ladder based on their draw for the final three rounds. They have some really good games coming up, as we know everyone loves to hate the Tahs and their games against Aggies...

Channel 9 continues the tradition of absymal free to air rugby coverage...

I like the system, and think it's a good idea, BUT because they were streaming the fox sports commentary and overlaying the referee comms, it came out as though they were clashing with eachother. If used properly, i think it would be a great system. Possibly dangerous if they are open mics though!

    Richie McCaw

The AB's are pretty switched on when it comes to marketing their team aren't they. Although, they do have a captive market - no AFL, not much NRL, bugger all Soccer (football).

I know, and what was going on with the referee microphones? It seemed that they were streaming the touchies calls early in the match. Also, my volume was really dull all game, particularly after an ad break.

Diggers - Athlete or Rugby Player?

Well, i've got to say that Diggers had a cracker tonight. Definitely a rugby player based on his performance this evening.
