Super Rugby 2012 Final - Waikato Chiefs vs Kwa-Zulu Natal Sharks

Steve Walsh to referee. Nice way to top off an impressive season. I'm torn on this, I really think the Sharks can get there and I love their style of play. But I think the cheifs halves combination might be the difference in a grand final. Chiefs by 3 or 4 is probably a safe bet. Either way...

Overall S15 Team of the Season

It's all subjective really unless someone wants to go over all the stats 5 times. From the games I've seen names that come to mind: Taumalolo, Strauss, Kruger, Retallick, Sharpe, Coetzee , Gill, Manu, Hougaard, Cruden, Savea, De Villers, C,Smith, Gear, Taylor It might even be better just to...

2012 S15 All things Referee thread

Well they do try to judge that after every game. Obviously here they decided no bad refereeing decisions in the game changed the end result. If this information needs to be kept from the media then OK. When they say "X decision didn't change the result", they are saying "we can't be certain...

2012 S15 All things Referee thread

Maybe it's not something they should discuss with the media. But I'm pretty sure the question of "did any bad calls have a significant impact on the result?" is something asked by referee's after every game in their performance review. So it is something they might have looked at in this situation.

2012 S15 All things Referee thread

Read what Bray said without all the sensationalist crap around it: It's funny how a journalist can take an entirely reasonable comment like that and turn it into a witch hunt. They decided that the TMO could (and should) have actually ruled in favor of the attacking team in that decision, but...

Well yeah, isn't that what I said? (basically) :D

2012 S15 All things Referee thread

Nice. Two best refs of the season. I got worried last week when these two weren't appointed. But it just shows that they were saving both of them up for this week. Whoever performs better should get the final. (I hope they aren't giving it to Kaplan lol)

    QF1 2012 - Reds vs Sharks

Nice game of free flowing rugby, quick ball all day. Congrats Shorks, out of all the South African teams I enjoy their style the most. They don't just get over the advantage line, they aim (and expect) to push 10m past it every time. Then they have amazing support play to finish the job off...

    How long will Quade get?

What has this got to do with me? Is there an email you want to share with us? Do you disagree with the appointments of this week?

    How long will Quade get?

Just look at the entire thread. "This tackle was high and didn't get a suspension" "so was this tackle" "so was this tackle". The posters doing this don't recommend whether all of them warrant suspensions, or none of them. They are just doing exactly as I paraphrased, listing all the...

    How long will Quade get?

Moving the goalposts? nice. So we are going to dramatically change the citing system, and start at super rugby, then work our way down? Sounds good, let's hear how it will be done. But like I said earlier, the current system is reasonable and picks up on dangerous tackling techniques. People...

    How long will Quade get?

What has this got to do with my post at all? I'm just telling people who are so passionate about this how they can overhaul the entire system (if it's as inconsistent as they claim). If you think there is an alternate path, we'd love to hear it. I'm all for improving SANZAR's current system to...

    How long will Quade get?

What, you think the entire citing system of our game should be overhauled without some effort and trial? Or that someone has attempted this and been stopped along the way?

    How long will Quade get?

Is the system designed to rank all the infringements of the weekend from most dangerous to least, drawing a line somewhere and suspending everyone over the line? Or is it our best attempt at enforcing a set of vaguely defined human created rules on a case to case basis, using reasonable humans...

    How long will Quade get?

Wow, they deemed it a Red Card offence. Big call. Players should stay well below the neck this week. Refs will be left with no option but to Red Card stiff arm high tackles from the neck up.

    How long will Quade get?

GAGR should form it's own judiciary, then every week they can issue consistant suspensions and show SANZAR how it's done. (or maybe realize how tough the job is, and why you take everything on a case by case basis)

    How long will Quade get?

The laws/regulations don't say anything about players "dipping" into a tackle. That's why it would be reckless rather than intentional. It's definitely a yellow, just a question of whether it's a red card or not, they'll probably spend a while deciding that.

    How long will Quade get?

The question is, is it a red card offence? Dangerous tackle's above the shoulder are minimum yellow, and sometimes red. I can't really decide. If Berrick wasn't injured by the tackle, and it had no impact on the game. Quade can probably argue that it was a yellow card offence, or a very...

    Reds v Waratahs Rd 18 2012

Unfortunately yes. But good teams move on immediately and win games even when they have to work a little harder to do so.
