You play your best team to win each match - TSC fell in to the 'let's give experience to Y11s' trap last year - the best team is not always the best individuals either. I read on here before some quote by a former TSC coach saying a team of Y12s will nearly always beat a team Y11s. When you...

    NSW AAGPS 2024

This is a replica (results wise) of last season for TSC - the coaches / head of sport / DoR decided to run a 1XV dominated by Year 11s, when numerous Y12s were better - they lost their initial games and only changed selections in the outside backs with 3 or 4 games left and started winning...

Right - my guess is the size mismatch at U16 was significant - at U18 things start to even up size wise, and skillset / finesse becomes more of a factor. All of this is irrelevant for TSC, as they don't seem to have a game plan - that and the continued player position shuffling. I would like...

I think Brial is an eight when TSC don't have a #8, otherwise he is a 2nd Row IMO. TSC have played the new RL boy at both centre and #8 - personally I would play him in the 2nd row also - BackRow is a niche skillset.

BackRow is (and has been for last two or three years) the flaw for TSC - if you can't secure your own ball, and pilfer / slow down the opposition ball, it becomes a hard game. Playing without a specialist #7 or #8 has been an issue for TSC past few seasons - this year looks to be no exception...

Yes - this draw is no gimme, especially if we don't front up in the tight 5, and one of the BackRow goes AWOL - which has been a tendency.

"Shore Scots. Battle of the two heavyweights in the pre-season." With LJ out, the wings may receive some ball and have a chance to show their stuff out wide - they just need to not revert to type (aka kicking game) and keep the ball alive. Should be a cracker.

Yes - read similar due to the Rebels demise. Max J out for the season with a serious hamstring tear when he was dropped to Randwick. He is a long way from WBs contention - would have been very useful for JWBs though.

Just looked at the Pro D2 Table - they play 30 matches each (home and away). That don't impress me much....

Yes - my "how do they do that" was meant in jest.

    That genuinely made me laugh.

That's a tough schedule, as they play European games as well - and a proper competition finish with only top 6 going through and top two getting a bye. Did Provence secure promotion? Once again - a proper competition where coming bottom of Pro 14 actually counts for something (relegation), and...

Is there any prize money for Super Rugby? Or is it just for the glory? I tried to find on google search, without any luck. The European Competitions all have prize money - as far as I could find on google.

I don't think TSC has worked out its best run-on 15 players yet, and their optimal positions. Quite why they didn't use the trials to work that out, only the coaches know. With such a short season, they appear guilty of sticking with players and formations that don't work for too long, then...

When there are (Football in England) 24 teams (46 games) you don't need a playoff system for Premier League - the reward for the winner is consistency and not a potential random/one-off playoff system. As you rightly say, that is what the two domestic Cup competitions are for. The bottom teams...

Tale of two Hemispheres / Rugby Codes and how they sit support wise. RL / RU - respective finals on the same day, Wembley and Twickenham hosting - RL crowd 65,000, RU crowd 82,000.

Yes - outward as opposed to inward - didn't translate to TSC 1XV Coaching success. That said, dual international for different countries is no mean feat.

"The other issues at TSC is teams aren't picked on abilities favoritism is rife!" This has been the norm at TSC since the Brian Smith days (he had his backrow favourites), and his legacy continues with the current DOR / Coaches. Last year TSC reacted too late to early losses from dubious back 3...

"A bit like the Tah's, Talented, but not a team." The parallels are well noted, a NSW anomaly - another saying that rings true: 'hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't work hard'.

Didn't see the game - really like to see TSC play a game in good conditions to evaluate them now vs their draw to TKS and loss to J a few weeks ago. Certainly wrong players in wrong positions isn't helping the boys - still time to turn it around though.
