    Southern Inland Rugby 2019

My favourite part of the day was the scoreboard re-setting during the main game! The Steamer's bench and Coaching staff had their hearts in their mouths that the score wasn't accurate. It added another element to the day for sure!!

None from four by my maffs there PB :) I've got to say, the day at the Exies was a cracker yesterday. Fantastic venue, change sheds for days, most games were played in a good spirit and the beer was cold. Rolling on to Conolly next weekend, we'll see something along the following timings and...

That's an interesting point you make there Whistle re CSU. It would be a shame for that to be the case, clearly. I hear talk of the Hay Cutters stepping in to play as Leeton's 2nd Grade but we'll see how that rumour pans out over the coming weeks.

It's a good discussion point to be thinking about re; Finals locations. I like the reward to the Minor Premier, but the problem with that is Waratahs have been Minor Premiers for the past umpteen seasons (bar Leeton recently). I don't know that there is a perfect solution, the Central West...

How good is the livestream!! Having it up on the scaffolding there at Conolly was great, a perfect vantage point and it didn't block the view like a ute etc does during the regular rounds.

All roads lead to Griffith this weekend at the magnificent Exies Sports Club for the following game times: 3rd Grade 11:15am Hay (2) v Deni (4) 2nd Grade 12:40pm Ag College (2) v City (3) Women's 2:15pm CSU (1) v Griffith (4) 1st Grade 3:20pm Ag College (2) v Albury (4) Interestingly, City...

The Waratahs v CSU Women's game was the best game of the day in my view. Griffith v Albury had some cliffhanger moments there as the Blacks had two chances to draw the scores late in the game but the Women's game was a cracker. It's interesting to see the effect that changing to a Ten's...

I reckon the "Bun Fight" as @Bubba puts it is what needs to be opened though. The Board can't seriously consider that there are only 3x instances of this across the comp can they? And for the record, the Steamers 1st Grade team are no more important than the other teams that have copped this...

As I understand it, there are sanctions available to the Board which they didn't take. For me, a sliding scale would be a more sensible approach. Maybe a written warning with a suspended sentence in the first instance, a fine in the second with docking competition points being a last resort...

I've never been a fan of tin foil hats, there's usually a logical explanation for most things. I'm pleased that have some of those conspiracy theories dismissed and it's good to hear some background on Noa. Context is important. I agree that the zone has put itself in this situation and it...

Ok, I get it now, sorry I'm a bit slow on the uptake and I'm not paying for a DA subscription. I'll put my tin foil hat on for a minute. So, this happened in the Albury v City match. Which is now a "non-result" Albury now cop -30 points and City get +30 points. A season-defining game for...

I started writing a bit of a spiel about this docking of competition points scenario but deleted it. The Steamer's aren't the first club to suffer this outcome this season but did the power's that be get it right in those other instances? Has the zone painted itself into a corner? Do members of...

Commonsense has prevailed. Griffith Blacks are hosting Week Two of the Finals.

Regardless of on-field success, I think James is a guy that City would be wise to keep around the club in a senior role wherever possible. Maybe some more support with assistant coach/es would be a positive move? No doubt City will be frustrated by their final ladder position, particularly...

Is it three times fellas? Definitely not by the same referee regardless. I know for the first example that I was aware of that the two potential players were asked to identify themselves in front of their captain and both denied any wrong doing. Hardly fair to point that one at the referee in...

I agree with you Paul, so does the SIRU Judiciary. In many instances though, the flip-side of the "soft" card is player safety and that needs to be the main concern for any referee. I'm yet to meet a referee that enjoys handing out cards or filling out the paperwork mate!! This is good to...

Fantastic point. It is. And, even better. The Swans are playing at Leeton. Great pick up there son.

The "Ace in the hole" for the Griffith Blacks is guys like Lee Kimball who has a long-standing relationship in the area. If Aggies are playing in two grades, with Griffith in two grades also, that's a decent start. The problem for this is the deadline for nominations closes this Friday (I...

Fair point, but is it really that different from Tumut last year? Most clubs operate their bar out of a tent (other than Griffith and Albury from memory). I doubt the Swans and Goannas would agree to moving the game to the Sunday to accommodate the Blacks even if they do get along well...
