U18 Academy Games and Australia U18s

Off the top of my head, you could start asking them to sign a commitment contract - one that gets the kids to replay a certain amount of money if they sign to another code within 2 years. You could have exemptions that waive this in certain situations. It won't stop kids going to the NRL but...

    Wallabies 2024

Basketball was definitely a contact sport in those days. And Jordan would play all 82 regular season games + play-offs....

Practically it's not hard.... you don't select him if he has signed a contract. If he wants to play league, then he can play for the Kangaroo U18s team. If the kid after him wants to play league, he can do the same. Put time, energy and resources into U18 kids who actually want to play rugby.

U18 Academy Games and Australia U18s

Rugby isn't treating him like shit. It is simply making a decision to put it's resources and efforts into someone who is more likely to provide a return on that investment. And a career choice, but it's very name, implies that the kid is accepting one thing and turning down something else...

    Wallabies 2024

I coached an U16s team this year for the first time so I talked to a few guys I know who are either coaching themselves or have been involved in fairly high-level environments and the advice I got was that a training session should have max 12-20mins of high intensity contact work. For me, it...

    New Zealand Rugby Team Watch

If only some of the NZ posters here, guys who have been to Aotearoa and maybe even *shock n horror* born and raised there had suggested this might be the case..

    Wallabies 2024

I reckon guys like George Smith are not common. When people talk about the greats in sports - guys like Jordan, Kobe, Messi, Tiger etc - you often hear about their work ethic and how hard they pushed themselves (and often their teammates) in training. A friend of mine once met Michael Hooper...

All Blacks & All Blacks XV EOYT 2024

I have no reason to think that I know know better than the last 2 All Black coaching teams. BTW - I have repeatedly said that I think Sotutu did enough in Super this year to earn another shot. But I also don't think he grabbed his opportunities the same way Sititi obviously has. The fact that...

And his 1 Test against SA was better than anything Sotutu has done in 14...

All Blacks & All Blacks XV EOYT 2024

That's fair... but in his 14 Tests, did he do anything like what Sititi has done in 4?

    Wallabies 2024

I'd start Pocock, Fardy and Valetini with Hooper off the bench. Pocock was the best 7 in the world at that stage, Fardy was Kaino-lite and Valetini brings a ball-carrying ability that none of the other 3 had.

All Blacks & All Blacks XV EOYT 2024

And what happened when they played South Africa? It's the Tests against the Boks or Ireland that I really want a forward to make a mark. Bullying the Wallabies doesn't impress me that much.

All Blacks & All Blacks XV EOYT 2024

Both Hoskins and Akira had opportunities to show this and just didn't. If wikipedia is correct, Hoskins has 14 caps and Ioane has 22. Neither one showed anything like what Sititi has in just a few games.

All Blacks & All Blacks XV EOYT 2024

Surely we can rule Cane out after this tour?! Ardie and Sititi aren't going anywhere, that just leaves Finau and Lakai. I have never been a fan of either Blackadder or Jacobsen but Blackadder actually played a couple of good Tests this year - can his body hold up to the rigours of it though...

    Super Rugby Pacific 2025

Free contect is so readily available and accessible via social media. Just a thought off the top of my head... ...would franchises and clubs do a better job of investing in local venues who pay (via their subscriptions) to show the games and create 'fan zones' for fans who aren't able to get...

    Australian Rugby / RA

And it goes directly against at least one of the reasons that Nigel Owen stated for why he was against it - that it didn't seem to change player behaviour.

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

Force beat the Brumbies who beat the Rebels who beat the Force.... take from that what you will from that lol The Tahs put 90-odd on the Brumbies in a warm-up game and 100-agaunst the Rebels. We'll see how the Brumbies go against them in the real deal this week.

Rebels actually beat the Force last week after their loss to the Tahs

The same way RA are why the Rebels couldn't put a winning team out for 14 years...LOL

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

If Super Rugby is dead, it's because the Rebels killed it LOL
