Brownlow is done by the ref is it? You could have 3 points awarded by each coach & captain together that have to goto the other team. Then the ref team can award 6 points to any of the players. Still 12 points but more discretion.

I don't mind having 12 points, hopefully means there's more variance. I wonder if the captain and coach collude or do it separately.
