    Sydney Subbies 2022

I wouldn't put a cap on any Subbies club. More freedom to them. The natural limiting factor is desire to play a game versus the number of games available. Yes, not play at all is likely. Some players gravitate to certain (premiership) clubs purely on the basis of the program they offer...

    Sydney Subbies 2022

In this scenario the premiership club would lose a player for the season and 'may' seek a replacement. This player would then commit to being on the roster and join the premiership program. Also keep in mind the new standards for Sydney premiership clubs and the semi-professional programs being...

    Sydney Subbies 2022

Not at all. Think rosters not teams. They need 161 players on a roster to compete, make it 180+ if need be. I would guess that a couple of clubs have well over 200+ on their roster. If you limit the roster for a club, what happens to the ones who don't make the cut? First they would seek another...

    Sydney Subbies 2022

A tangent topic thought. There was talk last year in Shute Shield regarding the roster size in certain Sydney premiership clubs. Humble opinion would suggest a roster cap for premiership clubs would benefit both the Sydney Premiership and Subbies. 4x Grade teams (scrap 5th) & 3x Colts teams each...

    Shute Shield 2020

Regarding Souths I thought they were going to struggle against Randwick last week as the injury toll bit hard with some form players out injured from the uni game. The 3 blue cards starting with #9 in the first 10mins made a bad situation worse. Souths don't quite have the depth at this stage of...

    Shute Shield 2020

The Emu's were at the Hawk's 7s on the weekend. Nothing to share from the team manager other than they will be back next year. Though other discussions indicated a Colts 3 team, Men's and Women's 7s, and a Subbies team.

    Shute Shield 2020

If they go into Subbies they would find it hard to get back into Premiership if they end up getting beaten by other teams. Also they cannot pay players in Subs (yes yes). With a lower grade team they were hoping to attract old players back to the club. SRU apparently rejected their request and...

    Shute Shield 2020

Inside back page of today's Daily Telegraph print edition Non-revival of Shute Shield outcasts has Penrith Emus irate by Jocelyn Airth Essentially they were looking to enter two lower grade teams and one colts team this year. SRU offered them a third-grade colts team, men's sevens, women's...

Well Menai is already gone. No Seniors team. Add to that Souths Junior clubs struggled in '19 with 16s and Opens only fielding single combined sides. Also note south west has Campbelltown and Camden playing in the Illawarra competition.

If you are referring to the population data it is from 2012 census. The scale isn't shown, still plenty of population around Kellyville, just lower density compared to other parts of Sydney.

    Sydney Subbies 2020

I previously did this same map showing 2012 population data from the census. Some of Sydney's most dense population runs straight west from McDonaldtown through Dulwich Hill, Campsie, Bankstown, & Liverpool. The only club in this region is Canterbury.

Begs the question as to why both Naiyaravoro and Skelton both went to the Premiership to develop true potential as Rugby players. Skelton in particular is now an absolute weapon at Saracens.
