    Reds v Lions 7pm Friday 27th Mar

That was a nice lead we had for five and a half seconds.

    Reds v Lions 7pm Friday 27th Mar

One of those Quade Cooper passes I literally could not see how he did it after two viewings. Need some slow-motion.

    Reds v Lions 7pm Friday 27th Mar

I don't think it's really a stretch to say there would be bogans screaming at a kicker at Suncorp.

QC (Quade Cooper) could have been carded already I think. Definitely hit that lions forward with a swinging arm before that little scuffle.

    Reds 2015

Tim Horan just had a great slip during half-time of the Rebels/Hurricanes game. He called Richard Graham "Richard Going".

    Excuse the annoying editing.

So the Reds will be swapping one thorn in the side for another? Sorry.

Homophobic remark in Tahs Brumbies game

The post you are probably replying to here was posted before your response, and was in relation to the person pointing out sexism as another issue that occurs. It was not meant to be a reply to you. I deleted that post as it also furthered my original point without hearing a reply from you...

Homophobic remark in Tahs Brumbies game

Thanks for the reply and I feel I've probably misunderstood your position a bit - I apologise for that. I had taken it to be in the disruptive potshot style of "Why are you acting on X and not Y" to have a go at the people taking action on X. I understand this not to be the case now.

Homophobic remark in Tahs Brumbies game

Which definition of opinion says they can't be right or wrong? They don't have to be based in fact to exist, but opinions can definitely be wrong. Not saying this particular discussion isn't subjective though.

Homophobic remark in Tahs Brumbies game

Are there specific examples of other forms of discrimination not being addressed that you're worried about? This is what I think was meant by the slippery slope comment. If there are other forms of discrimination that you feel are of equal importance and this is just a "trendy" issue, then they...

Homophobic remark in Tahs Brumbies game

Exactly. There's no expectation that people should reveal their sexuality or anything like that, but the fact there are none at all is pretty telling. I reckon Nigel Owens would have handled it pretty well, he's got a good attitude I reckon. He's been the target of abuse before at games (from...

Homophobic remark in Tahs Brumbies game

This is the last time I'll make this point, but Scrubber it really isn't about offending people. Can you not see how the impact of that kind of language and it's implications would affect gay men in ways much more serious than offence? People have already mentioned suicide statistics. Just...

Homophobic remark in Tahs Brumbies game

Do you really think those are the only two options? It's pretty undeniable that sport in Aus hasn't been particularly welcoming of gay people - can anyone name even one openly gay person playing pro rugby, league or AFL?

Homophobic remark in Tahs Brumbies game

I understand you're talking about the broader issue, as he also had the mining incident. How is it relevant here though? It's not an extreme position for him to want homophobia out of the game - it's the policy of his employer and he's an ambassador for the very issue. It's very different from...

Homophobic remark in Tahs Brumbies game

This is so true. My partner has had very little exposure to sport and particularly rugby growing up and has thought everyone involved is a meat-headed who dislikes anyone who doesn't fit the mould. Needless to say I have used the discussions on this forum to demonstrate otherwise to them a...

Homophobic remark in Tahs Brumbies game

Thanks for posting that couldabeen, very interesting read and I love the attitude of exploring your thoughts like that. I think what you've stated would apply totally to JP's "goodness" in that his intent is very important. He hasn't really been strung up though and most appear to have...

Homophobic remark in Tahs Brumbies game

I get what you are saying and think that in general a contest of ideas is far superior to banning ideas. But this comment was made in the course of his employment and it went against the terms of such. There are many similar things in rugby that don't take pure free speech into account - being...

That was not in response to you. I have edited.

Homophobic remark in Tahs Brumbies game

Edit: to IS. No, it's more nuanced than that. I don't know your feelings on homophobia, just that your focus is on shooting the messenger and trying every angle to attack Pocock's credibility. It actually isn't about him at all, I think most here would act the same if it was any other player...
