    Sydney Subbies 2018

We’ve got a trial tomorrow at Blacktown with Blacktown and Macquarie Uni. Hopefully going to be a good day!

    Sydney Subbies 2018

It’s all up in the air at the moment. Hoping that some more clubs can try to get at least an occasional second grade to make the whole split a bit easier.

Good day of rugby down at the 7s today. Itching for the season to start!

    Sydney Subbies 2018

It gets based off previous years and the division clubs nominate for themselves. Some of the lower div clubs don’t get their players to any preseason until much closer to the season, so it’s hard to gauge numbers for some of them, and the draws wait until that. The divisional meetings will give...

    Sydney Subbies 2018

We’d love to move up to Div 5 and are working towards it. We have lots of interest from old players who want to come back but don’t want to play 1st Grade. It will all depend on commitment, and as we all know, that’s a difficult commodity in today’s age! We need another 25 players to consider...

Hoping for a great 2018 season. We’ve got our AGM this Sunday and Touch football starting back next Tuesday to keep the interest around.

    Sydney Subbies 2017

Unsure. One guy has a facial injury (eye fully closed) and has had a few scans. He should be alright for the game though. Captain has a possible shoulder dislocation from being landed on awkwardly after a tackle. Fingers crossed he'll be alright for the match, but we've got he physio appointment...

Definitely can have his opinion. Not against that.

    Sydney Subbies 2017

aha agreed. Wouldn't have ruled either Engadine or Merrylands out. Both teams have enough potential if they play their own game. We've played them 3 times - a loss, a win and a draw.

A few of your guys had a great game! Some of the best competitive rugby we've had all season.

    Sydney Subbies 2017

It was a pretty good game. Very close match with both teams pulling ahead at different stages, but Merrylands got up at the end 41-35. A bit was missed by the ref for both teams, but no ref can catch everything. 2 yellow cards for Merrylands and a yellow and a red for Engadine. A few pretty...

None taken mate, and the name is Laura. I was just explaining the situation It's an unfortunate one, as we'd love to have the stress of running the grounds taken away, as that just adds to the running of our own finals match. All we want is to have a good hitout, and yes, hopefully decided by...

    Sydney Subbies 2017

Hey! I'm Merrylands secretary. Subbies couldn't find a neutral ground so did a coin toss between our home ground and Engadine's. We didn't rally for it to be at our ground. It was a 50/50 chance.

Agreed! We sit between 2-3k per year we donate to Cancer research due to a few officials and past players who've passed due to it. Got $12k first year we did it, but never as much now. Raised $2,610 Saturday just gone. Big props to Knox for their fundraising efforts.

    Sydney Subbies 2017

Tough call, but absolutely fair! I was at that point a few years ago, when we were close to folding and I honestly didn't care anymore if we did. Luckily we managed to pull back and get a dedicated executive committee nominated, and we'll hopefully begin to grow again. It's rarely appreciated...

Indeed! Followed up with two more away games after the wet weather weekend. Luckily only one of them is far away.

Completely agree! We had Manly away last week, Dee Why away this weekend and Burraneer the next. Tough to get the players there, even with the bus, because guys have to work.

That's exactly right! Just an ongoing battle.

Sounds great Pfitzy! We attempted that this year also, but it hasn't worked out too well. We're still getting dribs and drabs of fees. Hoping for the full fee upfront seems a bit too optimistic!
