Interesting to hear that Aloys 10 did well in CAS 2nds. I have never seen him play at 10 for Aloys. He is the 15 for them and is a standout for them. Good to hear that he did well at the trials.

WLF3 - the Knox 15 usually wins State athletics (often comfortably) and also national 100m & 200m as has done so even since I started seeing him in primary school (although their is a boy from Joeys now giving him a run for his money in the 100m).

BBR, I can only comment as someone with relatively recent experience with the school... It is going to be very difficult for the school. A relatively small cohort of students (approx 150 per yr), with no additional intakes in years 9 or 11 mean that what they have in year 7 is the maximum...

Last years 16s' had 2 teams (albeit the 16B's often struggled with numbers). Last years 15's had 3 teams, has dropped to 2 this year in the 16's (albeit with a big bench for the 16Bs)

FWIW - Aloys only has one team in each of the 14s and 15s. They played Waverly 14Bs and 15Bs last weekend, but interestingly the school has been quiet in regards to if this is happening for the entire CAS season, or if it is a week to week proposition depending on the strength of the opposition.

The thing I can't understand is the schools and CAS know these mismatches exist. Touch wood there never is, but if there was a life changing injury to one of the players in these known mismatched games, then the school and CAS are going to find themselves in real trouble

Very strange. I would have thought that part of the deal of being in CAS was being committed and available to play the competition rounds. Perhaps COVID has impacted the timing but very disappointing if schools can pick and choose when they feel like playing.
