    Sydney Subbies 2014

Are you referring to dropping them down to 4th Div a few years ago?

    Sydney Subbies 2014

Heavyd You dont think Subbies will force both Brothers and Newport up to Div 1 to fill the gap? I also wonder whether St Ives would be happy to avoid the chop. They have had a touch few year, maybe div 3 might be more their style?

    Shute Shield 2014

Ben played junior rugby with my brother at Eastwood. He will be or is 30 this year. Still a few more years in front of him!

    Sydney Subbies 2014

Heavyd, i'd say the killer ski season and school holidays are having an impact on numbers. I'd UNSW in the same bracket really. I think the top 4 for 2nd div will be Newport, Brothers, HH and Forest!

    Shute Shield 2014

Moonball, who did he have a run for in subbies?

    Sydney Subbies 2014

I am sure that St Ives would want to stay in Div 2. When you look at the comp they have so many games within throwing distance (Barker, Lindfield, Brothers, Forest and at a stretch Newport) I think it is quite sad that Campbelltown and Beecroft want to drop 2 divisions. Does that mean...

    Sydney Subbies 2014

Well i'd say HH will be gunning for BOBs place as the final top 4 contender. Blue mountains away this week will be a good test to see if they will keep this up! If Bobs dont win it, id like to see Newport get up!

    Sydney Subbies 2014

How many could they have possibly taken from St Pats? I know of the subbies number 8, but how many other could they have taken? I think its a great shame that for a subbies div 2 comp there is so much money being thrown about to stay up this year. I wouldnt mind the creation of a new...

    Sydney Subbies 2014

The local paper has mentioned that St Ives have changed coaches. Any idea who has taken over?

    Sydney Subbies 2014

Just wanted to give a plug to a local paper who have been doing a great job of covering subbies rugby this year. Check out their website http://www.kgex.com.au/category/sport/rugby/ Any other local papers do a good job of covering subbies?

    Where Are They Now

St Leos Old boys merged with Kur-rin-gai to form Beecroft seniors club which is currently in div 1

    Sydney Subbies 2014

Newport's success has been built around their colts team. Won the title 2 years in a row (12, 13) and now most of them are playing 1st grade. I think this is a most important point to make. BOB's have a constant influx from colts which saves the club after the older blokes call it quits. You...

    Sydney Subbies 2014

I can only really comment on Div 2 but i will give it a stab. Newport have done a great job to turn the club around. Full credit to them. I think it will be a Newport Brothers final in 1st grade. The fact that relegation will involve 2 clubs this year is huge. At the moment it is Hunters and...

    Sydney Subbies 2014

Pfitzy What changes would you make to the top divisions? I do think that 6 grades is a big ask when you are looking for a minimum of 90 players a week. There are some horrible road trips in subbies. I dont know how Campbelltown handle having to go north to Beecroft, Iggies, Knox, and Mosman...

    Div 2 24.05.14

What happened in 1st grade over the weekend with all the cards given out. Hunters Hill had 2 players yellow card and one red vs St Ives Lindfield had 4 yellow cards (All backs by the way) vs Newport Brothers had one player yellow carded against Barker. That has to be some kind of record...

For me the forest result stands out more than most. Something must be going on there. Saints hadn't won a game in 1's and were bottom of the table in 3's! Newport looking great in 2nd Div 1st grade! Strange that their colts are on the slide again!

    Sydney Subbies 2014

I think the thing to remember is that everything goes in cycles. I will use my club Barker Old Boys an an example. For about 4 years 2000-2003 we were really struggling. Knox even offered to merge with us as they were struggling. 5 years latter and we were in 1st Div. Look at Brothers...
