Heavyd You dont think Subbies will force both Brothers and Newport up to Div 1 to fill the gap? I also wonder whether St Ives would be happy to avoid the chop. They have had a touch few year, maybe div 3 might be more their style?

Heavyd, i'd say the killer ski season and school holidays are having an impact on numbers. I'd UNSW in the same bracket really. I think the top 4 for 2nd div will be Newport, Brothers, HH and Forest!

Pfitzy What changes would you make to the top divisions? I do think that 6 grades is a big ask when you are looking for a minimum of 90 players a week. There are some horrible road trips in subbies. I dont know how Campbelltown handle having to go north to Beecroft, Iggies, Knox, and Mosman...

What happened in 1st grade over the weekend with all the cards given out. Hunters Hill had 2 players yellow card and one red vs St Ives Lindfield had 4 yellow cards (All backs by the way) vs Newport Brothers had one player yellow carded against Barker. That has to be some kind of record...

For me the forest result stands out more than most. Something must be going on there. Saints hadn't won a game in 1's and were bottom of the table in 3's! Newport looking great in 2nd Div 1st grade! Strange that their colts are on the slide again!

I think the thing to remember is that everything goes in cycles. I will use my club Barker Old Boys an an example. For about 4 years 2000-2003 we were really struggling. Knox even offered to merge with us as they were struggling. 5 years latter and we were in 1st Div. Look at Brothers...
